ABC News Online: Killer robots: Chinese university recruits talented 'patriotic' teens to help develop AI weapons
A Chinese university has enlisted teenagers straight from high school to work on a new experimental program aimed at developing artificial intelligence (AI) weapons.
The Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) group of teenagers included 27 boys and four girls chosen to train as the world's youngest AI weapons scientists, according to the BIT website.
Those selected for the "experimental program for intelligent weapons systems" were all under the age of 18 and carefully chosen from a list of 5,000 candidates, the BIT website said.

That's typically a bureaucratic sight of how to make the best. Our high level specialists was good at school, but not necessarily the top of the top. The qualities are not only academic but also human qualities. How they can see that with teenagers? Of course, they can be lucky sometime, but that's neither a method, nor pragmatic.
That is a clever move. Get humans with not fully evolved moral compass used to the terrible nightmare AI weapons pose, so they will become obedient AI programmers over time and not question their companies (Google will be so jealous and will want their hands on some Chinese kids too, or after they graduated, doesn't matter, as long as they come brainwashed). Have them train and contribute ideas cheaply. They get to utter the most terrible thoughts like "hey why not send mini drone swarms that can slice open civilians and spray them with acid in narrow city streets? Not kill, but mutilate - women will be horrified if they or their children's faces get torn up!" oh yeah but I like flame throwers "cool, cool, but how about we use mini cluster bombs, flame and acid throwers? My dad showed me a drone not larger than 1m that could carry 200 of those and unload over a market or concert of freaking Americans" GREAT IDEAS! *Chinese "government operator/consultant" writes down everything and can later attribute the origin of the product to an underage kid* haha, China - you weird and crazy
Um didnt Hitler recruit kids for war..... but look away nothing to see here for some reason
