Jerusalem Post: Netanyahu, Putin talk in Paris for first time since downed plane
Initially there was a scheduled meeting between the two men to formally meet in Paris, but then it was canceled.
Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Russian President Vladimir Putin held an impromptu conversation Sunday in Paris, their first since the downing of the Russian plane in Syria on September 17.
Moscow holds that Israeli actions led to the downing of the plane by Syrian anti-missile aircraft.
An initially scheduled formal meeting between the two men in Paris was canceled.
But the two leaders did manage to talk on the sidelines of an event at the Elysee Palace in Paris.
Netanyahu told reporters that the “conversation was very good and to the point, I would say very important.”

WNU Editor: Talking at a dinner table when all the other participants have left is a strange way to have a discussion on important issues between two leaders (see above photo). But what I have read so far is that the French have made it very difficult for Russian President Putin to hold talks with certain world leaders at this gathering (almost all talks that Russian President Putin were canceled because the event timetable would not permit it). My guess is that after dinner both Putin and Netanyahu made the decision to tell the French to buzz off, and had their talks anyway.
