Reuters: Senior Saudi prince says CIA cannot be trusted on Khashoggi conclusion

ABU DHABI (Reuters) - A senior Saudi prince cast doubt upon the reported CIA finding that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman ordered the killing of journalist Jamal Khashoggi in Istanbul last month, saying the agency could not be counted on to reach a credible conclusion.

“The CIA is not necessarily the highest standard of veracity or accuracy in assessing situations. The examples of that are multitude,” Prince Turki al-Faisal, a senior member of the royal family, told journalists in Abu Dhabi on Saturday.

The prince, a former Saudi intelligence chief who has also served as ambassador to the United States, said the agency’s conclusion that Iraq possessed chemical weapons before the U.S. invasion in 2003 showed it could be unreliable.

A self serving statement to be sure, but the CIA cannot be trusted.

Nor can any other secret service or political party.

It's just how they are set up. By default and design you cannot have transparency when it comes to secret services. So, we normal people just have to accept what they tell us, even if it means a murderer might get away, or someone who's not at fault gets blamed..

In the absence of proof let's do what's prudent and protect America's interests. That's what Trump seems to be doing. But the left sees only a tyrant fascist murderer-sypporter in Trump. It's unfortunate. But understandable. The real victim, Kashogi, will unlikely ever see justice, but we can at least give comfort to his family and give them asylum in the US. Their lives are certainly in danger if they were to stay over there. Those are true political asylum seekers. Not that caravan waving flags of their "oppressors" lol I don't see his sons waving flags. Do u?

Once we no longer need the Saudis, I would not turn on them.

But neither would I roll out the welcome mat.

For now we need them and although the Saudis do fund mega mosques as a from of hegemony and some rich individuals have funded terror. They have been better allies than the Pakistanis.

For starters they gave until it hurt to defeat the USSR in Afghanistan. 2 or 3 times it took some nudging, but they came up with the money. I'd much rather ally with Saudi Arabia than Pakistan.

We can not trust the Saudis. We can not trust Intel in the U.S. We can not trust MSN...I trust whatever our president says for he would never lie to us

In a test, if the word always is used (if a sweeping generalization is used), then that choice can usually be discarded as being false.

So here we have you with the mind games trying some propaganda.

Well get a day job and if this is your day job expect to be terminated by those who pay you.

Is Trump a paragon? No. But the economy is up, the military is being revitalized, etc. So if you can't talk to that all you snippiness will get you is suspicion and derision.

Have a nice day!

:)
