The Guardian: Manafort held secret talks with Assange in Ecuadorian embassy, sources say
Trump ally met WikiLeaks founder months before emails hacked by Russia were published
Donald Trump’s former campaign manager Paul Manafort held secret talks with Julian Assange inside the Ecuadorian embassy in London, and visited around the time he joined Trump’s campaign, the Guardian has been told.
Sources have said Manafort went to see Assange in 2013, 2015 and in spring 2016 – during the period when he was made a key figure in Trump’s push for the White House.

Update #1: Manafort, Assange held secret talks in Ecuadorian Embassy: report (The Hill)
Update #2: Manafort, Assange held secret talks in Ecuadorian Embassy: Report (Washington Times)
WNU Editor: The Guardian is saying that a "well-placed source told the Guardian that Manafort went to see Assange around March 2016". A well-placed source? And this story is only coming out now? How come no one knew about this. And since there is no registration record of Manafort at Ecuador's embassy in London, the Guardian is now saying that it has seen a document written by Ecuador’s Senain intelligence agency that proves that Paul Manafort was there. There is so many holes in this story this story that I do not even know where to begin.
Update #3: Wikileaks is denying this report (see below):
Remember this day when the Guardian permitted a serial fabricator to totally destroy the paper's reputation. @WikiLeaks is willing to bet the Guardian a million dollars and its editor's head that Manafort never met Assange. https://t.co/R2Qn6rLQjn— WikiLeaks (@wikileaks) November 27, 2018

Wnu, Fox reported that people started speculating the the renewed pressure exerted by Mueller on Manafort was to basically extort some form of admission or fabrication from him but that the pressure didn't get them anywhere and that people are now thinking that the whole Manafort thing was just a 13year old tax evasion thing and nothing more (as was speculated before, but they were now like "everything is falling apart as there's no evidence for anything but the tax evasion".. so to me it looks like this new wikileaks thing is to make the whole Manafort thing into -something-... and, of course, Assange will be taken by the British police soon and then extradited to the US and will either see 25+ years in solitude /prison or he will make a deal. Justice in this whole Russia collusion thing seems to have a strong smell of extortion to it. I really want to know how far these guys are going to pin something on Trump. They've broken numerous laws before, incl. The phoney fisa applications, leaking of Intel and then apppointing a special counsel to find a crime - despite the fbi saying there was none after about 1 year investigation. That's actually illegal in the US, ie to "find a crime". It's so weird what's going on and why this is acceptable now more than 2.5 years into this. It could also be that it's just a maneuver to leave enough meat on the bone, so to speak, as the Mueller report has to satisfy both political camps.. otherwise the whole report will be questioned and Mueller and his entire staff will never ever work again in Washington. My guess is the later.. ie it's about buffing up the report. .to leave some innuendo about wikileaks and Russia in there and to perhaps have a potential continuation/second special council work on this once Assange is in US custody. The saga continues! :D I start to wonder though, what's worse - watching US justice system at work, incl. All the extortions- or Russia manipulating the election a little bit. Not sure. .it's getting almost even now
Anon,
Pretty good stuff. I believe the Trump people may quickly take custody of Assange for his and their safety. They should.
Anon,
You've pretty much nailed it. There's little I can add. Trump tweeted on the Mueller Commission some time ago. While tweets really are nothing new for Trump, there was a part of the tweet that caught my attention. He essentially described the Mueller team as in disarray while yelling at people and trying to intimidate them into giving them what they want. I know from indirect experience involving multiple sources that have a trustworthy track record that this is exactly what happens when a prosecution breaks down when there is tremendous pressure to get a conviction. Essentially they are thrashing about trying to find something, anything.
Essentially once team Clinton's internal polls indicated to them that she was probably going to lose the election, they then fabricated the whole Russian collusion nonsense. Now they then need to construct the narrative from whole cloth. I think they actually now believe their own nonsense.
If there is a silver lining to all of this, most of us have known about the American (in)justice system for quite some time but have had the option of blithely denying it. The type of treatment that team Trump has received has generally been reserved either for low level operatives or those who lack the means to fund a proper defense. Never before to the best of my knowledge has this been directed against a duly elected POTUS. The silver lining is it is now impossible to deny that the American (in)justice system exists except through willful denial.
As for Putin hating and fearing HRC, this might actually be a reasonable response. She did compare him to Hitler. Given the Russian experience with the genuine article, this was/is a dangerous and reckless thing to do. Furthermore given the need to work constructively with Russia in a number of areas such reckless statements undermine our interests. Additionally, this suggests someone who has not surrounded herself with competent advisors who might be able to advise her against such things. We have someone who make reckless statements and has had a hand in fabricating the myth of Russian collusion essentially exacerbating Cold War 2 and for what? Her political career it would seem or is she mentally unbalanced? Such words and actions indicate a mentally unbalanced person who is unfit for adult privliges much less actually leading anything. If someone of this mental state or lack thereof were to gain control of America's nuclear arsenal, there's no telling where that could lead. As such, hate and fear of such a person would actually seem a reasonable response from anyone who is even relatively sane.

you are on a mission, fulfilling your work contract, but you mistake when and if you think Mueller is confused, messed up, etc...the hammer is coming down and even Trump seems now aware of it...in fact, the Manafort debacle that just took place seems now a carefully laid trap to ensnare...?? guess. Manafort lies why? then Trump suddently willing to write notes to Mueller. Then Mueller nails Manafort to give long sentence. And Manafort thinks he is ok since he ensures that Trump will give him a pardon...now watch what will soon take place
Reckless statements? Have you followed anreisen politics? Calling someone Nazi or the next Hitler is the Democrat's go-to move. I've seen it happen a hundred times this year alone. No. Putin wouldn't care that much about that. No. He's too smart and thick skinned to let that bother him. Instead, as he's a self made man, who rose to power through his own skills and work, I think, he despises her for her self-entitlement. She's literally just running on her husband's back. Then when she lost against Obama, he made her foreign secretary. To keep her close (as you keep enemies close) and control her sniping. Then when she lost again, she still wouldn't take a hint. She's literally mentally unstable and entitled. Perhaps he read her psych profile. Of course he did. He probably wouldn't even have to read her profile. He knows her type. But still. He wouldn't care enough to meddle in elections enough..all we have after nearly 2.5 years of this sh*tshow is people thrown in jail and threatened to rot in prison if they don't squeak. 2.5 years and nothing despite all this pressure they put on people. Almost makes me think there must have happened something because otherwise, non-professionals or non-committed people would have already made up a crime to get out. That Manafort, who's used to living large, as you know, hasn't given in to anything is so weird. They literally could keep him in prison for 10+ years on the tax evasion (multiple times longer than anyone else for the same crime), and they keep him in solitary confinement for the whole time already - which is absolutely not normal for white collar crimes like this. Makes me really shudder...who's worse... the US justice system, or Russians not wanting a crazy entitled lady on "the throne" (if it happened). Judging all your agreement with me, I now of course must assume it did happen, as you're 99% always on Russia's side ;)
I used to think the same way when I was still watching CNN. Totally like you. Next week they'll get him. This time Mueller knows. It's a trap. They've got him. That was 2.5 years ago. After a while I caught on. You will too, eventually. Just look at who honestly did all the election meddling. It's well documented. And it reads DNC. wasserman schultz@bernie. Donna brazille@townhall questions@Hillary. The phony fisa to spy in a presidential campaign. The leaked stuff by comey to get a special council going. Just wake up. If it walks like a duck and talks like a duck. The rot is on the Democrat side. Big time.
WNU,
I have read the article. I would suggest that the Guardian and it's reporter have competent legal representation close at hand.
