Global News: Canada’s ambassadors urging allies to push for release of Canadians detained in China: Freeland
Canada’s ambassadors around the world are launching a concerted campaign to pressure allies to push for the release of two Canadians detained in China, Foreign Affairs Minister Chrystia Freeland said on Saturday.
In a teleconference call with reporters, Freeland said Canadian ambassadors would reach out to their counterparts to discuss the “arbitrary detention” of Michael Kovrig and Michael Spavor, which she said set a “worrying precedent.”
“I will continue in the coming days, along with Canada‘s ambassadors around the world, to be speaking with foreign counterparts about this issue,” Freeland said. “Our ambassadors… will be speaking directly in an organized effort with their counterparts.”

Funny how quiet cnn is on this topic. No help to western friends if their Chinese Ad sponsors are kidnapping oh sorry "arresting" Canadians. Cnn. Selling out the West one Chinese Ad and one pro Chinese editorial at a time.
So if Germany has not air force like many European nations and the Canadian has none either, the Canadians have no leverage. It is not like they are going to embargo China.
So if it is not economic or military force, we are left with the proverbial sharply worded letter.
Why should the US help them? All I hear is that Trump is stupid and Trudeau is bright. After all Trudeau plays a mean game of dress-up. The Donald could not do that.
