The Guardian: Der Spiegel says top journalist faked stories for years
Publication says Claas Relotius committed journalistic fraud ‘on a grand scale’.
The German news magazine Der Spiegel has been plunged into chaos after revealing that one of its top reporters had falsified stories over several years.
The media world was stunned by the revelations that the award-winning journalist Claas Relotius had, according to the weekly, “made up stories and invented protagonists” in at least 14 out of 60 articles that appeared in its print and online editions, warning that other outlets could also be affected.

WNU Editor: Regular readers of this blog know that I am very harsh when it comes to news reporting that I believe is fake and/or biased .... but is presented as factual and accurate. Being someone who reads Der Spiegel and who posts their English stories on WNU, this is very disappointing. The editors at Der Spiegel fell asleep at their job, and my guess is that they choose to believe what Claas Relotius was writing (because it fit into their own biases and view of the world) rather than check his sources and information. The fact that he was able to get away with it for years is truly mind-boggling.

Wnu you should know by now that lying on the left - no matter if der Spiegel or CNN - doesn't disqualify you. Media is 90% controlled by the left. CNN. Msnbc. In Germany der spiegel is considered left.. Washington post. New York times. Bloom Berg. They all belong to people who identify as Democrats. Many of them thinking about running for president on the Democrat ticket. Zucker (ceo of cnn) is openly pondering to run in 2020. So is Bloomberg (not new for him, he's a famous Democrat who for more than a decade is running for Democrat offices, incl mayor in nyc).
So we have a media landscape in which we all know people lie (also on the right),but media ownership is so heavily tilted towards the left that of course it's easier to get away with lying if you're part of thay group. Entire shows, like the view on Msnbc, are filled with lies and opinions. Sure. .opinion shows are opinionshows BUT the airtime is filled with them. Cnn is filled with liars..but. .Parrots like Fred eat it all up and then defecate their lie meal all over us, reposting links like they earn awards or respect. The reason is this:
The left believes what they do is righteous and that the right is filed with evil, bad people, all of them racist.
Anything goes. You can throw coffee in the face of a republican and Democrats will cheer you on as brave
you can form mobs and shout down people - inspired by Maxine Waters- and you get applauded for this
You can call an end to civility - as hillary Clinton - the most prominent and two time presidential candidate on the Democrat side did - without consequences except applause
And my prediction is simple: Fred hasnt woken up in 2 years since we started talking on your blog. He will never get it. It will therefore only get worse. Because Democrats see republicans as evil. Anything is allowed on the left. Lying. Fbi spying. Mobs. Intimidations. If someone were to kill Trump, he'd be an eternal hero to the left. You know there's truth to it
The scary thing is this: no president has been harsher than Trump on China - it's the single most important issue to the power of the US- and weirdly there is this coordinated attack on the left media to bring him down..they don't seem to care that this moment, this trade war, will define the economic well being of the US (and with it the rest of the western world).
Good luck to all of us. With more than 50% now believing in the left agenda we will see a rapid decline of the US. Trump is going to be a lame duck president soon, and I don't think he'll get reelected. China will wait him out and with it win the trade war. Trillions are lost. Literally. But it's hard to imagine, it's easier to inside he groped a woman. Or he lied about sex. You know,those things matter on the left. Trump was our single best chance and we blew it. The left because of group thinking and stupidity, the right because they were spine-less
WTF!? I watch and (used to) read CNN daily and always laughed my ass off when some douche tells me its full of lies. I told him to watch fox news then. ..i never believed it. .but then I paid attention and noticed that quite a bit is shady and now this!??
He was CNN's JOURNALIST OF THE YEAR for ferguson and anti trump stories. And they're all made up. Including people he "interviewed"!! ALL LIES
I'm done with CNN. What a lousy network. I agree with much that has been said by others about cnn before, including the election manipulation via Dona Brazille - outrageous - I just didn't want to believe it is that bad and I never liked Trump but omfg they just lie and lie. .they ruin our country!
