Has Russian President Putin Soured On President Trump?

Bloomberg: Kremlin Sours on Trump After His Repeated Putin Snubs

* Ties ‘far worse’ than if Clinton had won, Russia lawmaker says
* Russia likely to toughen policies amid arms-control standoff

Donald Trump may have stood up Vladimir Putin once too often. After the U.S. president snubbed the Kremlin leader twice in less than a month, Russia is finally losing faith in Trump’s promise to improve relations and bracing instead for increased tensions.

Feted by Russian lawmakers with applause and champagne after his election in 2016, Trump’s mercurial decision-making is increasingly seen as a liability in Moscow. Russian officials were taken aback when Trump tweeted that he was canceling talks with Putin at the Group of 20 summit in Argentina hours before they were due to meet last week, a decision one of them called really bad. Since then, Russian frustration has steadily grown, according to four senior officials, who asked not to be identified discussing internal matters.

Update: One Snub Too Many: Kremlin Sours On Trump As "Patience Coming To An End" (Zero Hedge)

WNU Editor: There is some truth that the Kremlin has soured on President Trump .... but from what I am reading and hearing in Moscow is that the Kremlin has soured even more on the entire Washington political establishment.

The USA has little common interests with Russia. Obama was as good a friend as Russia would ever have in DC. WHAT DID IT GET THE USA? Nothing.
THe USA needs to work assiduously with its closest allies, Australia, Japan, Canada, Isreal, Norway, England, and a few European nations to safeguard itself. Russia will never be an ally, it will always be a foe.

Hey Fred, what do you think now about Trump? Still too easy or comprised by Putin or something else!?

The window for Russia / USA collaboration is closed now. Mainly from US media which put roadblock against doing so. Sad but dices are done. Russia and America will go their own way.

Jac,

Russia is likely the most powerful military force on earth. America needs cooperation with them. Russia doesn't need Such Cooperation from America. Candidate Trump had this exactly right when he suggested this. What has changed since he was elected?

I noticed during the campaign he rightly called out Japan, South Korea, and western European countries as users and abusers of America. The ultimate users and abusers of Poland, Georgia, and Ukraine were NOT called out.

Putin called Obama a child during the hot mic incident. Netanjahuh - Israel's PM - called Obama worse. Obama was not very popular among some of our most important adversaries and allies. Merkel loved him though. Her political mistakes on immigration killed her long career though. She shared much of Obama's vision of what the world should be like. But most of the world is just not on board with it.

In a nuke war, both sides lose. In a conventional war, the US wins hands down. Crushes Russia even without using its many NATO allies. So please, bposter, when you jerk off to Russian porn, please don't be on the keyboard and post here at the same time.people can tell.

Michael: sorry but Trump does nada, zip...Putin makes a fool of him. wow. a plane flew over...big deal.I wait for Mueller report and the indictments keep coming forth...Trump does not want sanctions but the senate and house are now defying Trump increasingly, as in the recent Saudi Arab ia debacle.

Good grief Fred!
Trump doesn't want sanctions? What president has used them as extensively as DJT? Certainly not that two fisted brawler the community organizer; self appointed king of the sandbox in kindergarten. Problem was the other kids had abandoned that sandbox 'cuz they knew what the neighborhood cats were doing in that sand. And thus began a career of empty gestures.

I've made my mind up on the mule-er report some time ago as have an increasing number of taxpayers. A true nothing burger. What I would much relish seeing is the documents involving dim-o-crats DJT threatens to release but disappointingly hasn't.

"Any military specialist will tell you that US is supreme in its military at this time in history" - Fred

Define military specialist codger.

Fred,

Actually a number of reports have come out suggesting that a US military victory over Russia or China cannot be guaranteed. I actually figured this out 20+ years ago. What I think has happened is reality has become so glaring that these people can't blithely ignore it as they once could.

As such, in my considered opinion the situation is likely much worse. While we cannot "know" the outcome in advance, it appears to me that Russia and China are the most powerful military forces on earth and our country needs to act accordingly.

Anon asks for the definition of military specialist? If you mean the typical talking head pundit or the government careerist who got promoted by keeping the incompetents ahead of him/her happy, I'm not impressed. The failed policies of these people have caused us the problems we are having today that Trump was elected to fix.

I agree with you that a plane flying over will not matter much. Sanctions aren't working and are only making things worse and even if they could work they can't be maintained indefinitely.

Suggestion: do what presidents Regaen and Bush 41 did. Actively work constructively to end Cold War 2 through negotiations where we are respectful to the other party. While some of the rhetoric was heated in public, multiple sources have suggested during negotiations our side was very respectful.

I find no evidence that Trump wants to go easy on Russia. Actually quite the opposite seems to be the case. The actual policies seem to be much tougher than that of his predecessor.

Anon (3:08AM),

A number of reports have come out indicating that victory over Russia or China cannot be assured. I figured this one out 20+ years ago. I'm pleased some are finally catching on. What I think has happened is the reality of the situation has become so glaring they can no longer blithely ignore it.

Bottom line: Based upon what I believe to be a very careful analysis it is my considered opinion that Russia and China are the most poweful cinventional mikitaries on earth and American leaders need to act accordingly and work to position our country for maximum benefit.

You accuse me of jerking ofg. I do not mean to be disrespectful here but if you actually trust our NATO "allies" this says something about you. We seriously need to rethink our involvement in NATO. It is a net cost center, it drains resources without a corresponding benefit, and the other members aren't trustworthy. At a minimum the other members need to take measures to build trust. I'm not seeing this. In fact, I'm seeing the opposite.
