Is The Mueller Commision Endagering National Security?

RCW: Stephen F. Cohen: Mueller Probe Hysteria Endangers National Security By Preventing Trump From Talking With Russia

Stephen F. Cohen, NYU professor emeritus and author of War with Russia: From Putin and Ukraine To Trump and Russiagate, warns FNC's Tucker Carlson that relations with Russia are worse than at any time since President Eisenhower was in office.

Cohen said Monday on Tucker Carlson Tonight that Trump is the first president since the Eisenhower era to be prevented from negotiating with Russia because of the hysteria surrounding the Mueller investigation and "Russiagate." At the same time, the risk of conflict with Russia hasn't been higher since the Cold War.

WNU Editor: First things first. A disclaimer. I know Professor Cohen. Second thing .... I usually disagree with him. But on his above point that it is essential for both the U.S. and Russian leaders to always be talking to each other .... I do agree with it. Unfortunately .... it is not happening, and what concerns me even more is that even those who are engaged in backdoor talks are at risk. One only needs to know on what happened to former National Security Adviser Flynn to appreciate the risks that are involved. While Michael Flynn should not have lied to the Justice Department and Vice President Pence on his backdoor talks with the Russian Ambassador before President Trump's inauguration, the message that is being sent out by his conviction and soon to be sentencing is that you do so at your risk. That such talks are usually monitored, and if it becomes politically expedient, it will be leaked to the public. In such an environment no one will want to be engaged with Russia .... and if Professor Cohen is right .... no one is. This does not make the world safe, and it certainly is not in America's long term strategic interest. My prediction .... with a Democrat Congress it is going to worse. Subpoenas and investigations on White House contacts with Russia is going to be focused of the new Congress, and the grounds for impeachment. With the exception of the President and cabinet members, no one else in the administration will then want to be engaged with Russia, no one.

We have sanctions in place, put there not by the Dems but by the Govt controlled GOP
Trump has met, in private, with Putin
They may meet again
Tucker and his Fox of course are hand in hand with Trump so thus hardly objective
This entire article seems of little merit...We are at ease with both Russia and in part, Russia in helping Assad, our enemy in Syria...and we are at ease but continue to talk with China

Interesting, I mean your analysis suggests that the diplomats want to control the contact of the administration. This seems odd to me and at odds with proper communications. It should be the administration that dictate how contact is done, like with NK but with Russia it's different? Something's afoul.

Once again Lapides stumbles across reality, but picks himself up dusts himself off and hurries on off as if nothing happened. Except of course the panting.

If as is a possibility and is under study, Trump and Gang are in cahoots with Russia, then that is stumbling block for national security. If then that may be the case, then it makes sense to find out rather than to dismiss things for "national security."
and now, anon, as always, stick in your panting remark. You are very limited in all but your insults

Dear editor
Not to worry. If Dems hold hearings on Trump and Gang involvement with Russia, then either they will reveal what needs to be known or they will show that there is nothing that is a problem ..recall the endless hearings on Hillary that went nowhere....this is called putting all the cards on the table to see what hand one is plahing.

The Pentagon has announced recently that Climate Change was endangering national security yet nothing has been done by the present administration about that.

"either they will reveal what needs to be known or they will show that there is nothing that is a problem "

"or they will show that there is nothing that is a problem"

If there was not a problem, but the Democrats caused that much fuss, then they created a huge problem and must be brought to account.

FISA was very much abused and misused. Democrats, many of them, must be thrown in jail.

Many Democrats colluded with foreign entities in Britain to seize power in the US. They must be brought to account.

I never seen a parrot pant so hard!

Dear Cobra
If the Dems did evil, as you suggest, in your harking as always to the past, why no indictments? If FISA abused, why nothing from the GOP controlled govt?
if your last charge--I have no idea what you are trying to say on that one--is valid, where is Trump and his Attorney General?
In SUM: you are full of beans and can do nothing but make unsubstiated charges and dwell in the past

"why nothing from the GOP controlled govt?"

Timid. Many Republicans are domesticated.

Now the Dems are getting tired of maintaining their flock and want to get rid of all pretense of checks and balances.

The Fusion GPS past is from the same period in the past that the parrot, Philoctes, is so interested in Meuller supposedly investigating. Good God, but you are a dimwitted moron!

There Fred goes again, citing the Onion and engaging in childish name calling when someone with a different opinion comes into the comment section. His cunt froth floweth. The man child belches his nonsense and emotional fervor.

Fred, you cannot be unaware of what Mule-er has found about collusion and other interactions with Russia but you write as if you are unaware. If indeed you are, read the Judicial Watch website.
With this in mind, please describe what YOU would do to find what Mule-er has not after nearly two years on investigations and tens if not over a hundred million dollars spent on his investigation.
As a famous bank robber once said when asked why he robs banks his reply was "That's where the money is". My suggestion is that the clintons are where the Russian collusion is.

Fred, Judicial Watch currently has an investigation currently ongoing regarding the klin-tunz.

There are numerous firings, retirements, and demotions in the FBI due in part to their behavior and testimony before congressional investigations concerning efforts to prevent the evil Trump from winning the election. Ever hear of James Comey, Strozk[sp], and a number of other FBI members? Of course you have, Fred. At least be accurate if you are going to input here.

fred said...

Judicial Watch is not a govt agency and they have yet to make anything public

Name those who specifically tried to prevent Trump from winning and then got fired from FBI...Comey got fired by whom and why? that, dear heart, is under investigation.
What If We Already Have The Mueller Report?
