The Hill: Narrow majority backs Trump on Syria, Afghanistan troop reductions
A narrow majority of U.S. voters surveyed support President Trump’s decision to withdraw U.S. troops from Syria and reduce the country’s military presence in Afghanistan, according to a new Harvard CAPS/Harris poll released exclusively to The Hill.
Fifty-two percent of respondents said they back the moves in Syria and Afghanistan, which came as a surprise to the president’s own national security advisers when it was announced last week. By contrast, 48 percent said they oppose the troop withdrawals and reductions, the poll found.
Trump announced he would completely remove the approximately 2,000 troops in Syria battling the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS), while he said he would cut in half the roughly 14,000 U.S. forces in Afghanistan.

WNU Editor: Considering how overwhelmingly negative the media coverage has been on President Trump's decision to remove U.S. forces from Syria, I expected a massive majority would be against this decision.

That and drop bombs ((& artillery) in conjunction with Kurds and for a little bit with the IA.
Plus some spec ops (& cyber) outside of being embedded.
Still we were not serious.
Isis was good for the west because goal was to topple Assad, not take out Isis
Do we now conduct military affairs by polls and, if so, why not ask the public if we should go into a nation to wage a war...since the War Powers Act seems ignored
It is a goal to wipe out ISIS and Assad.
Assad murdered American troops.
"Do we now conduct military affairs by polls "
It might be good to get a consensus. It would be better for Congress to do their jobs, but that is not going to happen with Democrats and RINOS.
Perhaps if the non-unionized and extensive vinyards, hotel and restaurant Optimate, Patrician Senator Pelosi of a Senatorial family, were attacked by ISIS she might want to really fight them instead of window dressing.
the usual attack here on Pelosi and Dems is pure bullshit...those engagements referred to took place under Bush, Clinton, Obama, Trump...and the GOP was complacent in such military engagements...might be time to put aside tribal cliches and deal with actuality
The argument is sound, extremely sound.
- Democrats will always put in a guns versus butter debate.
- Democrats will vote to authorize war and then a year later they will just try to tear you a new "you know what". From 2004 through 2008 Pelosi made it one her biggest issues.
- Nothing says traitor like Assad providing aid, comfort and secure rear areas for jihadis in Syria and then Pelosi traveling to Damascus to show off a lot of leg and maybe swap spit. Maybe that is what Assad is so made with us. He caught an incurable STD.
