Will Impeachment Proceedings Against President Trump As Well As Being Indicted By The Manhattan US Attorney Occur?

CNN: Former Nixon WH lawyer: Congress will have 'little choice' but to begin impeachment proceedings

Washington (CNN)Former Nixon White House lawyer John Dean said he thinks Congress will have "little choice" but to begin impeachment proceedings against President Donald Trump following a Friday evening court filing involving Trump's former lawyer Michael Cohen.

"I think what this totality of today's filings show that the House is going to have little choice, the way this is going, other than to start impeachment proceedings," Dean, a CNN contributor, said Friday on CNN's "Erin Burnett OutFront."

Dean, who served time in prison for his involvement in the Watergate scandal, was discussing a sentencing memo from the Manhattan US attorney's office, which was the first time prosecutors have said Cohen acted at the direction of Trump when the former fixer made payments to silence women who claimed to have had affairs with Trump prior to his time running for office.

Trump has denied the affairs and has not been accused of any crimes related to the payments.

WNU Editor: Impeachment is a political process, and the Democrat base is demanding it. What also helps their cause is that some Republican politicians support it. But with about half of the country still supporting President Trump, and many more not in favor of Congress pursuing impeachment, the political will is still not there to do it. As for the Manhattan US Attorney indicting President Trump for violating campaign financing laws. Harvard Law Professor Emeritus Alan Dershowitz analysis is probably correct ....

.... a "weak case" against Trump on the "campaign contribution issue" because he is "entitled" to pay off women as a private citizen to protect his family.

.... an attempt by Trump to build a skyscraper in Moscow is not a crime, unless there is a "quid pro quo" aspect that would give President Putin a penthouse or something of the like.

"But shortly after he announced that he was opening it as a club, he announced his original roster of members. And the price to join back then was I think $200,000 or $250,000. And I’m talking about over ten years ago now, way longer than that. And one of the first people that Donald Trump announced is a member of Mar-a-Lago was Prince Charles. Prince Charles wasn’t a member. And if he was, he didn’t pay anything. This is the point."

If Trump had a dalliance with Stormy Underpants, so what? It was consensual That is the standard the the most vociferous of liberals, the gay lobby use, when defending what ever type of sex. So by the liberal standards, what crime?

Then there is John Edwards. He had a mistress on the payroll. That went to court. Campaign money was used. So does Meuller want to got there? He does. Which means he has a special place in many American's hearts.

"some Republican politicians support it"

Those Republicans were not and are not well liked. Flake (appropriately named) and Corker among others.

I have to hand it to Democrats. They defend their presidential rapists.

The Russia Probe Becomes a Banal Sex Scandal (UPDATED)

"What happened next, according to Halpin's affidavit, would in another era be classified as date rape. [Grover] Cleveland sexually assaulted her "[b]y use of force and violence and without my consent," "

From Grover Cleveland to Bill Clinton, Democrat voters will defend their rapists.

What is the saying?

"He might be a rapist, but he is my rapist!"
