Middle East Eye: Turkey bolsters troop levels near Kurdish areas of northern Syria
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan vows to drive both YPG and IS from Syria
Turkey on Saturday sent military reinforcements to northern Syria near an area controlled by Kurdish forces as Ankara threatens to carry out a fresh offensive to wipe them out, a war monitor said.
The move comes after US President Donald Trump's surprise announcement on Wednesday of the withdrawal of American troops stationed in northeastern Syria alongside Kurdish fighters, a long-time enemy of Turkey.

The whole world goes crazy over the Saudi state sponsored murder of a journalist........ but has nothing to say about the Turkish sponsored genocide of an entire race of people.....way to go people
Americandian soldier,
How to explain this?
One word: COWARDICE
Taker for example zero tolerance for drugs. The system will turn a blind eye to a drug dealer in school but come down hard on a girl carrying aspirin for PMS. That way the authorities are seen to uphold the letter of the law but not the spirit.
This is the similar. They come down on Saudi Arabia to virtue signal knowing that they will not suffer. On the other hand Turkey could do some bad things to them in Europe or the US.
This and no border wall have the making of making Trump a 1 term president.
Pulling out can be a very good things. See Richard Fernandez's piece linked below.

But pulling out can doom Trump.
Most people do not care about the Kurds. Not their problem Not their problem just like Czechoslovakia 1938 was not their problem. Democrats have not made q case for helping the Kurds. Neither has Republicans. McCain and Graham loved the Free Syrian Army, but they did not mention the KURDS ALL THAT MUCH.
Now, it seems that Erdogan is determine to go forward. No one has ever punched this dude in the nose. Erdogan has been bad news since the mid 1990s when the Wall street Journal 1st reported on the racist punk.
The Kurds need 35 to 50 anti-tank missile in that area.
The U.S. Media's Hypocrisy with the World's Largest Jailer of Journalists
Guys - the reason is simple. Money.
CNN has a daughter network that is quite cozy with the Turks and Erdogan: cnnturk.com
Go check it out
When Kashogi was killed, it was Erdogan who told the US what they should do, through the media. CNN repeated bit for bit what Erdogan wanted. Why? Because Turkey is in bed with Russia. And they wanted the $100bn arms deal that was done between Saudi Arabia and the US. Only Russia or China could fill such an arms order. i.e. the murder of Kashogi was used, in a propaganda act, through CNN - which played along - to get that deal.
CNN. Selling you out. One "news" story at a time.
The plan seems to be for Saudi and UAE forces to back up the Kurds and for Saudi, Israeli, and Jordanian forces to work in concert with the Russians to curtail Iran in Syria. According to the Jordanian source these nations have been workkng on this for months. I suspect this is accurate as Trump never does anything rashly. This hasn't bern his history.
Overall this looks to me like an excellent plan. It may not work. The parties may not be able to work together. Even if they can maybe Iran and Turkey are simply to strong for them. Maybe Russian assistance doesn't materialize to the level needed. Obviously we can provide air support or other support as needed and beneficial.
I estimate the plan has an 80-85% probability of success. Having the US military remain indefinitely in Syria and having the Kurds rely solely on us as we further deplete our strength is a plan with about a zero percent chance of success. As such, we go with Trump plan. This plan appears to afford the Kurds their best chance. Trump cares more about the Kurds than any other US politician or so it would seem.

Time is over when america was everywhere. War is more and more costly. America is choosing to give priority for its ground protection. Sad for its allies but understandable as reasonable move. Didn't Trump say... 'America first' ?
WW1 cost 50% of GDP
WW2 cost 200% of GDP per year
WW3 will cost 1 gazillion billion % of GDP.
Yea. But it's also a great economic boost as well.
How many zeros is that?
