Obviously there was more damage than meets the eye.
Reminds me of last summer when I took the passenger side mirror off of my Toyota Rav 4 as I was backing out of the garage. With some of its parts laying on the driveway it looked more serious than the damage to this plane, relatively speaking of course, but it all went back together again in ten minutes of fooling around with the parts and a screw driver, and was/is fine.
What was really strange was that about 6 weeks ago I did the same thing to my girlfrined's Lexis but it cost her $1,400 to get it fixed. I felt some responsibility for the damage of course, so I paid the first installment by calling Bell Canada and getting her monthly bill reduced, including tax, $80 a month for a year. I will do it again in a year, not take off the mirror again, I hope, but get another reduction in her Bell bill. Ultimately she could be ahead around $600. on the whole business and one night, I'll get my losses when we go to the Casino covered, maybe.
