* President Donald Trump delayed an upcoming tariff increase ahead of its March 1 deadline to stop a billion dollar trade war escalation with China
* 'I will be delaying the U.S. increase in tariffs,' he tweeted

* Trump has threatened to escalate the trade war by raising the 10 percent tariffs he's placed on $200 billion of Chinese goods to 25 percent

President Donald Trump on Sunday delayed an upcoming tariff increase to stop a billion dollar trade war escalation with China and said he and Chinese President Xi Jinping would hold a summit at Mar-a-Lago to conclude an agreement between the two economic super powers.

Trump announced his decision in a pair of tweets Sunday after negotiations between Chinese and U.S. officials continued throughout the weekend to come to an agreement ahead of the March 1 deadline.

'I am pleased to report that the U.S. has made substantial progress in our trade talks with China on important structural issues including intellectual property protection, technology transfer, agriculture, services, currency, and many other issues. As a result of these very......,' Trump wrote.

I have not heard anything about Tech Xfr and IP, but there is progress on the rest. Delicate process with these Chinese, so a delay is not bad this time around.
