Russian President Vladimir Putin has called on his Turkish and Iranian counterparts to continue working together "actively and consistently" on plans to stabilize war-torn Syria after a U.S. troop withdrawal that has been announced by President Donald Trump.

If the US left eastern Syria quickly, in a matter of a couple weeks, nothing stopping Erdogan from invading save intelligence or common sense. If the US encourages the Kurds to deal with Assad on re-entry of Assad's control, Turkey will be stymied. The Kurds never revolted against Assad as far as I've heard. The Kurds have greatly assisted Assad in fighting ISIS and destroying it. Assad is intelligent enough to come to terms with the Kurds while he is weak and in need of strong loyal Syrians such as the Kurds.

Time for the US's Alice in Wonderland middle east adventures to end, for good.
