Special Counsel Robert Mueller departs after briefing members of the U.S. Senate on his investigation into potential collusion between Russia and the Trump campaign on Capitol Hill in Washington, U.S., June 21, 2017. Joshua Roberts, Reuters.
Amelia Thomson-DeVeaux and Julia Wolfe, Five-Thirty-Eight: Is The Russia Investigation Really Another Watergate?
How Mueller's probe compares with the work of other special counsels.
Nearly two years after special counsel Robert Mueller was appointed to investigate possible Russian interference in the 2016 election, he appears to be nearing the end of his work. We don’t know what new information we’ll gain from Mueller’s report, but here’s how his investigation currently stacks up to other special counsel investigations:

WNU Editor: There are a lot of differences.
Hat tip to Robert for the above Five-Thirty-Eight post.
Update: When considering what he was convicted of, and the prosecutor's demand for a very harsh sentence, Paul Manafort got off light. With good behaviour he will be out even sooner .... Ex-Trump campaign chief Paul Manafort sentenced to 47 months for fraud in Mueller case (CNBC).

comparing watergate to mullergate is comparing a finished 5 act play to a play that has completed 4 acts and is nearing the final act. In short: no comparison can really be made at this point
Plays, novels, and other stories have story arcs. You know what is coming. Denouement after such an arc is not a surprise. Well, unless it is the TV series Black Sails.
There is so much more spying by the government and misuse of the spying apparatus (FISA) by political faction in and out of the government.
Manafort was given a light sentence. Cohen perjured himself in front of Congress and will be up on charges. His former lawyer, Lanny Davis, is crying mea culpa and is trying to extricate Cohen. It is hard to say whether Cohen will get any sympathy. He lives in a big city run by big city / Democrat Party Machine politics. The cost of doing business in NYC is crazy insane. Cohen cheated on his taxes and is subject to the taxi cab medallion system?
Do the Democrat want to ... Let me back up. Are the Democrats stupid enough and insane enough to defend the taxicab medallion system?
The taxi cab medallion system has nothing to do with Russia or Trump. The Democrats can't make it stick. The tax cheating is wedded to the taxi cab medallion system.
People like Uber, Lyft, and competition. While Cohen will be reviled as a tax cheat and a turncoat, He will be sympathetic as a tax cheat, because NYC laws and taxation are such an excrement sandwich. Prosecuting and sentencing Cohen brings forth the whole Democrat Machine in NYC into scrutiny.
Have at it. NYC needs the scrutiny.
And BTW where did the Mayor's wife spend 850 million dollars?
Cohen seems such small potatoes compared to the malfeasance of the mayor's wife.
Where has $850m gone? Bill de Blasio's wife can't account for staggering amount of taxpayer money that the NY Mayor gave her for mental health project
I would to amend a previous statement.
Taxes in NYC should be insanely high to make many people want to cheat. How else is enough moolah going to be collected so a mayor's wife can waste, spread patronage and defraud?

NY mayor wife cant explain missing 850 million
It's only a cool 850 mil. Wake me up when they've lost a billion. ;)
AOC also can't account for nearly a million. And that's before she's really in power. She will make Pelosi look like a saint. The future of the Democrat party looks worse than its parent leadership - I know it's hard to imagine. Haha they had it coming. No tears here

The chair of the House Intelligence Committee just introduced a new bill aimed at preventing Trump from abusing his pardoning power
According to the latest poll that ran Feb. 27 to March 4, 50 percent of U.S. adults believe Trump "tried to stop investigations" into his campaign, while 32 percent said he did not and 18 percent said they were not sure.
It also found that 53 percent believe the campaign "worked with Russia to influence the 2016 election," while 32 percent do not and 15 percent said they were not sure.
If Revenues are up faster than inflation from the year before, then the fault lies in spending not tax cuts.
Maybe parrot needs learn economics. That way he can say he learned something in his otherwise wasted life.
By April we will have learned form the Mueller report that there was no collusion.
Not one mention of the time the investigations took. ??
