RFE: Putin To Brief China On Kim Talks, Says Willing To Share Details With U.S. As Well
Russian President Vladimir Putin is in Beijing to brief Chinese leaders on his just-concluded summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and said he is also willing to share details of the talks with the United States.
North Korean state media on April 26, meanwhile, reported that Kim had invited Putin to Pyongyang "at a convenient time" -- an offer that was “readily accepted,” according to the Korean Central News Agency. No dates were specified.
The moves could raise Moscow’s profile and influence in negotiations between Washington and Pyongyang over North Korea’s nuclear program, talks that have failed to bring fruitful results despite two summits between U.S. President Donald Trump and Kim.

Update: Putin says he will brief U.S. on summit with Kim (AP)
WNU Editor: I am skeptical that anything new came out of these talks.
1 comment:
Obviously ..
1. Kim lies when he says he wants to de-nuke
2. Kim needs money. Putin has money.
3. Putin likes pissing off the US and wants to increase his power against China (it's just prudent)
4. Putin will look for a way to exploit the situation. Correction: He likely found a way years ago
5. Putin knows the biggest -realistic- threat to the US is a North Korean "mad man" who might send a few nukes towards the US. West Coast - which is in striking distance of North Korea as everyone knows.
6. Putin knows the only way Kim would use nukes is if he is desperate, thinks he won't survive anyways, and wants revenge.
7. Putin has a plan to create such a situation. Not saying he will execute on such plan, but he certainly has it.
8. Trump and Pompeo know this of course. They have plans too.
9. The next few years will be interesting. Putin looks old now. Trump looks a bit older now too. Who has more energy? Who wants legacy more? Who has the bigger stick? It's a close one, BUT considering how bad, how incompetent US intelligence seems to be - I would not be surprised if it's going to be a close one.
