Middle East Eye: US to place Iran's Revolutionary Guards on terrorist list: Report

Top White House officials endorse designation as senior military officials caution against it.

The United States will designate Iran's Revolutionary Guards as a terrorist organisation, an unprecedented move that will ramp up pressure on the elite force, The Wall Street Journal reported on Friday.

The newspaper, citing unidentified officials, said President Donald Trump's administration will announce the decision as soon as Monday and that concerned defence officials were bracing for the impact.

The officials told the WSJ that Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and White House National Security Adviser John Bolton, who have repeatedly railed against Iran, are strong proponents of the designation.

WNU Editor: Iran's response is that they will label the U.S. Army as a terrorist organization .... Iran To Blacklist US Army If It Declares Guards As Terrorists: Lawmaker (NDTV/Reuters). Even the Pentagon and the CIA are getting involved, expressing worries that the White House is deliberately increasing tensions with Iran .... Pentagon and CIA officials fear that the White House is about to escalate tension with Iran (The Week). I find that view odd, especially in view of Iran's long history of deliberately increasing tensions with the U.S. and its allies in the Middle East.

Any country that is not your own is foreign and therefore by extension your military when so classified by others are also "foreign terorists".

Robert Hanssen and Robert Huntley sound an awful lot alike. They are not the same person of course, but they do have the same manner of reasoning IMO.

White House Chief of Staff Contradicts Trump, Admits President 'Could Always Allow' People to See Tax Returns Despite Audit

Bob Huntley said...

The release of tax returns is actually something that has as much value as the "so help me God", a wholly voluntary statement made by the person taking the Oath, both activities being completely voluntary and absolutely meaningless.

From a tax return release perspective there is nothing at all to stop a President from releasing a completely bogus return. The IRS cannot blow the whistle on such an activity.

What should be law is that the year before office tax return, should be released as well as the President's return for each year of office and the two years following his tenure, all validated by the IRS. Only then can the people be certain that the President did not benefit financially, as per the Emoluments clause in the Constitution.

Anything less makes that voluntary action BS.

Regarding the "So help me God" addition, Presidents have gone on to violate the Constitution with seemingly no regard for God's oversight.
