Reuters: Venezuela's Guaido calls for 'largest march in history' to oust Maduro
CARACAS, April 19 (Reuters) - Venezuelan opposition leader Juan Guaido on Friday called on supporters to take to the streets on May 1 for what he called "the largest march in the history" of the South American country to keep the pressure on President Nicolas Maduro to leave power.
Guaido, the head of the opposition-controlled National Assembly who in January invoked the constitution to assume an interim presidency on the basis that Maduro's 2018 re-election was illegitimate, reiterated his call for the country's armed forces to take his side in the three-month power struggle.
"They will need to listen to the people saying: enough," Guaido told a crowd gathered at a plaza in eastern Caracas, setting the date for the march for May 1, International Workers' Day.

I thought Maduro’s regime would have collapsed long ago.: dictatorships often do (eg. Marcos, the Shah, Ghadaffi, CCCP) That Venezuela has proven so resilient makes me think it will be very violent at its end.

People will be energetic out of hope, desperation, fear of liberals, true belief. So they will make the effort and spend the energy.
So the high will be followed by slump as they try to rest and recuperate from the effort. It will look like siesta in Venezuela, when they truly need to get work done. Productive economic activity will take a large hit when looking over a 2 week to month period.
From manufacuring I learned that slogans do indeed work. They work for a couple of weeks and then people get cynical. this hard lesson in relaity and human psychology was learned in a non-politcla settin. So awise perosn might surmise that there was hno bias in the research. A liberal would not.
Many of the true beleivers will hate these parades in later years. They will call it brain washing. I know this from family connections. No doubt liberals will watch the May Day parade and it will warm the cockkles of their evil hearts.
GDP in May abnd June will be lower than in March or April. It probably look like a montonically decreasing series to the abyss. that is their parade will give the communist leadership the mental pick em up and steel their nerves to hold the course and corkscrew all the way into the ground.

That would mnake Trumps approval rating to be 60% to 64% if you took away that pressure from Friends of the Soviet Union.
