The Hill: Navy reviewing if service members violated policy by wearing 'Make Aircrew Great Again' patches

The Navy is reportedly reviewing whether some service members violated Defense Department policy by wearing "Make Aircrew Great Again" patches during President Trump’s visit to the USS Wasp stationed in Japan.

The Navy said in a statement that the matter was under review by leadership, according to The Associated Press. The department said it was reviewing the patches to ensure they didn't violate any regulations administered by the Defense Department.

The Pentagon has regulations against partisan political acts by service members while in uniform.

Of course Fake News loses it over the patch. That's to be expected (and ignored) But good grief the Navy is infested with hyper-sensitive snowflakes.

/never a problem with patches like these under Obama.

the rules are the rules. under trump. under obama...only not for you, right?

Themed morale patches are common throughout the military. They can be humorous or refer to something unique to the unit.

Some snowflake MWR officer decided to take offense at this patch. But honoring the Commander in Chief in a humorous way is not against the "rules".

"the rules are the rules. under trump, under obama" really anon, are you going to stand by that statement?

No Bob. They were not out of uniform.

My response to the DOD is Fuck You. Trump is Commander in Chief. He ought to tell the DOD to stand down.

That's so stupid. The patches that are worn on the right side of flight suits is the only way we can show individuality and humor on the uniform. The fact that journalists and people from the outside keep messing with our traditions is so stupid. We don't tell them what to wear so they need to stay out of it.
