Should President Trump's Lawyer Rudy Giuliani Go To Ukraine To Push The Government To Investigate Former Vice President Biden?

Newsweek: Trump Lawyer Rudy Giuliani's Axed Trip to Ukraine Roils Washington Democrats, Fuels Allegations of Impropriety

Amid criticism, Rudy Giuliani announced Friday night he would no longer be traveling to Ukraine in an effort to push the country to pursue an investigation into former Vice President Joe Biden's involvement in the 2016 ouster of a controversial prosecutor.

Giuliani, the personal attorney for President Donald Trump, reversed course after Democrats blasted the former New York City mayor for what they viewed as an attempt to court foreign help to stymy the former vice president’s run for the Democratic ticket.

WNU Editor: The Democrats and the media have piled on in criticizing this trip when it was first announced. But if the shoe was on the other foot and the story involved President Trump and one of his sons, I would not be surprised if their reaction would be the complete opposite. As to what is my take on the story itself. The Biden family's interests in Ukraine have been documented by this blog and others .... Company In Which Joe Biden's Son Is Director Prepares To Drill Shale Gas In East Ukraine (July 26, 2014). There is a lot there that needs to be investigated and made public. But I also know that it is not going to happen. The new Ukraine government under President Zelenskiy does not want to bring up issues of the past, and they certainly do not want any negative publicity on their parliamentary allies .... which would certainly happen in this case. In this context, Rudy Giuliani made the right decision in cancelling the trip. He would not have been well received. As to the criticisms that President Trump is trying to use the Ukraine government to damage a political rival. All that I can say is where is the criticisms of Hillary Clinton hiring a foreigner (former MI6 agent Christopher Steele), who used his Russian contacts to produce a false dossier that has occupied the media attention for the past two years. Can anyone say "double standard".

I heard an interesting story the other day about Hillary and her prodigious drinking habits. It is nice when you get independent confirmation of news stories of her being a lush.

She ran up quite the bar tab in Columbia. Maybe that is why she has the nerve damage and the problem standing upright in the 1st place.

Maybe instead of burly security guards holding her upright, she use a walker?

Maybe the comedian is not corrupt like his predecessor.

But the people behind him may be very corrupt. Eventually, that will redound on him. Maybe he does not want to antagonize the Russians, but why antagonize the Americans?

What is the point of buddying up to Ukraine , if they will just buddy up to the Corrupt Democrats? We know what is in it for the Democrats, abuse of power and the riches that go with it.

At the time I pointed out that our involvement in Ukraine was about the stupidest move ever made by a major world power. At that time, I assumed our leadership was simply stupid and went in without an understanding of who we were supporting, who we were inflaming tensions with, or in general what we were doing. That analysis still generally stands, however, we are now learning there may have actually been nefarious in this.

Anon at 1:33 pretty much nails it. Not only is there point to this but such involvement in Ukraine while perhaps enriching the Bidens actually runs contrary to American interests.
