Reuters: U.S. Navy again sails through Taiwan Strait, angering China

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. military said it sent two Navy ships through the Taiwan Strait on Wednesday, its latest transit through the sensitive waterway, angering China at a time of tense relations between the world’s two biggest economies.

Taiwan is one of a growing number of flashpoints in the U.S.-China relationship, which also include a bitter trade war, U.S. sanctions and China’s increasingly muscular military posture in the South China Sea, where the United States also conducts freedom-of-navigation patrols.

The voyage will be viewed by self-ruled Taiwan as a sign of support from the Trump administration amid growing friction between Taipei and Beijing, which views the island as a breakaway province.

Good. It needs to be done as often as possible. Otherwise is becomes a de facto Chinese exclusion zone. China wins.

We let it happen with their man-made sand barges, can't let it happen again with international waters.

Saluting China with the middle finger of friendship as they sail by. It may seem like a childish exercise, but the captains and crews have got to be pretty tensed.

Yeah,my hats off to the people on those ships - certainly an important mission, and more countries should join as it is all our waters. All countries benefit from international waters, free trade and not just China trying to create a massive exclusion zone for their own little piggy bank. It's just weird what they do, and if we let one bully get away with it, others will follow. Actually, we did (Obama did) let Putin get away with Ukraine, and this is what happens. Iran got emboldened too under Obama. North Korea did (until Trump walked in). That's why we need a guy like Trump, because they know he will follow through and not fold and "lead from behind" like Obama. The pivot to Asia happened under Obama - that was his stick - and he f'ed it up. The artificial islands happened under Obama's watch. Not Bush's. Not Trump's. Square in the middle of Obama's presidency. He also kicked North Korea down the road, gave Iran the billion in cash and so on. Charming guy, but what a foreign policy disaster he was! Putin called him "a child", on a hot mic, and there was never any payback for it. Trump had 200 Russians who attacked a US base pretty much wiped out - not something I liked, as I value Russians as much as anyone, but he at least stood up to the attack, which it was.
And Trump is responding to China's aggressions and bullying of everyone. I like that. I want him back 2020
