FOX News: Navy leader who told sailors aboard USS Harry S. Truman to ‘clap like we’re at a strip club’ has resigned

A senior Navy official who told sailors to “clap like we’re at a strip club” during a visit from Vice President Mike Pence last week has resigned, the service announced Tuesday.

Command Master Chief Jonas Carter of the USS Harry S. Truman stepped down from his position as the ship's enlisted leader and will retire, Capt. Nick Dienna, the commanding officer of the vessel, said in a Facebook post to crew members.

"Onboard USS Harry S. Truman, we measure ourselves by the highest standards of professionalism and personal integrity," Dienna wrote. "I commend Master Chief Carter for having the forthrightness and the courage to uphold this ethos by taking responsibility and holding himself accountable for his comments."

Not a great way to treat by a 30 year Master Chief by PC-drumming him out of service for a harmless remark. Total bullshit. The US military didn't used to be infested with hyper-sensitive snowflakes. /they're probably embedding political minders from MWR at Liberty ports.

DAMN,

What am I missing? And the "leaders" question the recruitment numbers.
Frankly I find this insulting.

Well..he embarrassed the 2nd highest civil servant on an international stage. My guess is he did the honorable thing and probably got a huge lump sum after 30 years of service. He'll be alright and likely will use his 15min to do a book deal or some thing
He seems like a fun guy but military cannot be all fun and games. A seriousness is required and he just went a bit too far. Well. .to be more clear: in this hyperpartisan world he should have known that anything anyone says will be amplified and twisted if necessary to embarrass this administration. He certainly never meant to be part of this but they don't care. They will use toddlers if necessary and get them fired from toddler school if they can make this administration look bad

It seems like a harmless thing to say but given his position it,

a) could be interrupted as a sexist comment,
b) could be interrupted as a political comment,
c) they really wanted to get rid of him for other stuff and so it became an opportunistic comment,
d) further to c) they recently determined, much to the embarasment of the Captain and crew, in fact the entire navy, that he was posting idiotic stuff on the War News Updates site under the name Anonymous,
e) all of the above.
