Hundreds of thousands of Pyongyang residents today lined up the streets to welcome China's President Xi Jinping for his first state visit to North Korea, according to Chinese state media.
Footage released by Beijing's state broadcaster CCTV shows men, women and children passionately waving what appears to be fake flowers as well as both countries' national flags at the airport and along the road.
More than 250,000 citizens reportedly swarmed to the streets between Pyongyang International Airport and Kumsusan State Guesthouse - where Xi and his wife will be staying - to get a glimpse of the Chinese President and their Supreme Leader Kim Jong-un.
The two leaders waved to the public from a convertible limousine, reported China's Xinhua News Agency.
