Lee Smith, Tablet: Spies Are the New Journalists
And with the help of big names in media they’re turning journalism into an intelligence operation
There are two sets of laws in the United States today. One is inscribed in law books and applies to the majority of Americans. The other is a canon of privileges enjoyed by an establishment under the umbrella of an intelligence bureaucracy that has arrogated to itself the rights and protections of what was once a free press.

WNU Editor: It is bad enough that former senior and partisan political operatives now host media news organizations (George Stephanopoulos comes to mind). But we now have former partisan senior intel officials being the ones who provide analysis and direction for news audiences on political stories and events. This is not a healthy sign for journalism. Not at all.

to say its not healthy is an understatement. It is dangerous, and will result in calamity in the future.
1. distinguish between working for a news outlet and appearing as a guest.
2. it is ok for former this or that open private security company or to work for a university or a corporation but NOT for a media outfit?
3. the implication of the article: if you have had any connection with govt work that entailed security clearance you can not work in media.
4. I note George S. singled out because he works for a newsoutlet not liked by right of center
5. there are at least 5 former Fox hires now working for Trump in govt..that is ok ? if jounalism should not be influenced by former intel people, is it ok for govt to hire former journalists who touted a political position?
6. In fact, every former intel person I have seen on a tv cable news show is always identified as to his positon and under which administration...that then is full disclosure
every one is partisan. simple as that.
