U.S. Intelligence Community Pushes Back Against The Justice Department

Jed Babbin, The American Spectator: The CIA Is Running Scared

Barr’s bloodhounds are sniffing up Langley’s skirts.

Last Wednesday the intelligence community launched its first attack on Attorney General William Barr’s investigation into its illegal acts and abuses of power during the 2016 election. In a New York Times article entitled “Justice Department Seeks to Question CIA in its Own Russia Investigation,” the IC makes clear its fear of the results of Barr’s investigation of their spy operation on candidate Trump in 2016 that continued through his early presidency.

The article, obviously written at the behest of its intelligence community sources — “current and former American officials” — is the first of many concerted attacks on Attorney General William Barr’s investigation of the joint CIA/FBI spy operation. Many other articles, based on carefully crafted leaks to the media and Congress, are sure to follow because current and former high-ranking officials of those agencies (and probably the NSA as well) have a lot to lose.

WNU Editor: If current and former U.S. intelligence officials are talking to the New York Times in order to attack this investigation, they are simply telegraphing to everyone that there is some information that they do not want disclosed.

I am pretty sure they have lots of information Barr would not like to be disclosed as well.

the truth is out there said...

Intel by nature does not like what it does casually used for possibly political reasons. Barr has made it clear he is very political. proof? he still has not unredacted materials for security cleared congressional committee to read as is legally their right and duty

Yes he has squirrel. Being so obvious must difficult when you do so highly classified potato peeling.

Honestly, the CIA running scared!? Really or is this just a headline to capture all of you and get you into a frenzy!? I am sure he CIA has a lot of secrets (ha, I actually said that), that's the nature of their business. Barr should focus on whether political influence was brought to bear upon the CIA's mandate to influence one candidate over another. He should not go after methods and facts that were obtained by the surveillance.

Fred, I read your oral history. Thank you for sharing it. The many rascals that just love to try and taunt you, can not hold a candle to you, your life’s work and experience or your truth telling ways.
Thank you for your service to our country, then and now.

Have you looked at Fred's published works? In a word "Forgettable"

Obviously, when the phrase "Publish or Perish" was coined, they did not mean Fred.

Exception to every rule.

fred said...

Anon--
thank you. I had not put that oral history up myself. It is part of hundreds, oral histories made by Rutgers University. In passing, I would note that my one son served in the Marines and another in the IDF, in an elite outfit.

ADS = Anti-American Derangement Syndrome

That sums up most if not all of Bob's posts.

Do not talk about his potato career. He's a guy to be taken seriously. Someone who willingly, repeatedly and for more than 2 years calls half the country deplorable, racist and even worse, is capable of much more. I hope he's on a list by now. Someone who that willingly believes in the bad in us all, thinks we're evil and he's good, it's scary stuff.

Not bad.. don't give up your day job just yet, but not bad :-)))

I would say that B. H. Is not an America hater. I love America, it’s ideals and many of its actions. But, an honest person, one who can clearly discern right from wrong, good from bad, moral from immoral must stand on those principals, even when discussing or judging your own country, heritage, or other close held entity. Or in the case of Bob, his southern neighbor.
To do less, is to become a yes man/woman, ‘my country, right or wrong’, is the wrong approach. We must always be open to improve our knowledge, ethics and intentions and, yes, the veracity of the norms of our country.
This critical thinking is presently lacking in the White House and the far right radical thinking which pervades the Republican Party, with its gerrymandering, voters rights abuse, internment camp treatment of children, and general disregard for the Constitution and the premise that government is for the people and of the people, not for the rulers and of the rulers!

You gave your consent and didn't miss a chance to embellish. It's in the public domain and people can read it and compare it to what YOU said to your actual service record, whether you like it or not.

You were doing pretty good until paragraph #3, you take up your advice of paragraph#2 as self improvement project so your Freudian slip doesn't show so much.

Dearest Anon 1:49, please advise Anon 1:41 (comment A) what exactly you are speaking of. Remember, I don’t have the exalted mental capacity that you are blessed with. Keep it simple and direct so when you talk down to me, at least I will be able to understand your profundity. Thanks!

Thank you for finally acknowledging the work I do here which is of course to help Americans recognize their "derangement" issues and re-join humanity. Sorry my mistake, that should be join humanity.

ADS = Anti-American Derangement Syndrome = good

Different anon here (the anin who calls you little parrot, not in a mean way though)..

To the other anons: let's not talk about his sons. Thank them for their service. I know he brought them up, but let it go.

Little parrot, we have many disagreements but I'll always respect you and your sons service. Thank you.

Fred,

- Do you believe in Sanctuary Cities?
- Do you believe in amnesty?
- How many immigrants legal or illegal should the US take every year?
- Should your taxes be raised to teach immigrants French?
- Should your taxes be raised to teach immigrants Mandarin, Cantonese, French, Spanish, (pick a language).
- How much money should you spend educating a kid by % of income, standardized dollars (i.e adjusted for local cost of living), percent of property taxes, etc?
- Should Yellowstone be paved over to make refugee housing?
- What should the population density be per mile in America?
- What should you commute time of cost of living be in a major metropolitan area?

You are a classy lot, haranguing an old war vet for sharing his considered opinion. Has he not earned any respect and do you all not have the dignity to allow a divergent view from your decidedly narrow minded opinion?
He, you and I all deserve respect. And maybe some of us could learn from those whose views some so vehemently reject. Wisdom sometimes rears it’s head and it is for us to take the honey! Fred, is an example of such. Most of us here love and defend this country. You are not defending or respecting our home by badmouthing a vet or any quality citizen of this country. Together we stand, divided we fall!
Parrots and squirrels do not enter into the equation, mature and critical thinking is where it is at

regarding number 3, "How many immigrants legal or illegal should the US take every year"

A) I suggest an number equal to 3 times the number of immigrants and refugees created through US initiated wars and subversive activities around the world.

B) As for associated costs. When determining the cost of creating wars and subversive activities factor in the cost of A. above. If the total is not able to be passed on through increased taxes and/or borrowing stop causing wars and doing subversive stuff should be considered.

thank you, anonymous
I that when i get insulted and no serious comments offered in opposition to a position I take, I will react with links to articles that are both truthful, serious, and against presumed standards of those hurling insults, as in this manner:

Trump: Immigrants didn’t want to come to America before I was president because ‘Obama wasn’t a cheerleader’
---"I don't even know what we're doing now," one ICE officer said of the Trump administration's approach. Even ICE agents are reportedly 'losing patience' with Trump's antics | MSNBC
--- Trump Mad At Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney: Politico Report
But now I suspect there is at least one Anon who does not have a position but simply gets off on being nasty, stalking, and with an injured ego...it would be helpful if all pitched in and suggested he play nice or go to timeout corner

Bob,

You mean the wars that the USSR created.

Fred I know you do. The reason why we make fun of you - not more than that..sure name calling sometimes but just to let of steam - but you must understand that we truly believe that this president is good where it matters, from our perspective, that's all. We truly believe that Obama was weak. I honestly hand to chest believe he was awesome in his own ways. When he walked out to announce they got bin laden was perhaps one of my all time favourites. I truly honestly liked him at first. .. I'm not a racist and it hurts when you call us that. .we know we're not. .sure there are some racists but in all parties. .they are the minority. .sure they make headline news but any of us wants African Americans to do well. From my perspective they're my brothers and I'd doe for them human for human as I know they would too.. we're just being divided and manipulated and from our perspective they've gotten to you. You must not believe what they tell you. I don't know why they do it, but they honestly mislead you. But having said that I agree that trump could be nicer. And I agree he did appear to do shady business back in the 80s. But he seems a changed man to me. Yes I'm sure he'll try to make money out of it, to him that's not dirty/he does that on purpose/fully knowing that this is the game and we all play it to the limit of its rules..to understand why he's like that you must watch a few documentaries about it. We all have. That's why we also believe he's not a racist. Much had to be retracted on what was reported about him. Please try to read our sources too/try to understand our side

Like a seagull. Craps and move on.

Take shots on Trump over illegal immigration, but will not discuss. Just spamming links.

Meanwhile the seagull part of the top 5% or 10% has all sorts of elbow room and refuses to let an illegal family stay with him when he has a spare bedroom or two. How is that for compassion. El Paso, Texas can be overrun, but seagull is safe in the knowledge that the problem will never be that bad in his neck of the woods before he keels over.

Nothing like Obama advertising food stamps in Latin America. Obama the Democrat really knew how to roll out the red carpet to illegals. He also did his best to just fuck over Texas and Arizona when it came to illegal immigration. He da Man!

Then there is Fort Huachuca which is involved in intel. How secure can it be, when illegals roam through base housing? THx Obama

Maybe are resident intel weanie can tell us.

Would I want someone one better than Trump? Yes.

He was the best out there at the time and still is. I'll vote for him again.

Jeb surely brought nothing to the table.

I look at some Republicans that might be better than Trump and then I think of Gran versus Sherman. Sherman opined that he was smarter than Grant in almost every regard as to military strategy, but acknowledged that Grant was the better commander.

Yeah I appreciate that. And I think we all also wanted a female president at one point but to us it was a rejection of her character and leadership qualities. Not sexist or rejection of a female leader. I thought trump brought a much higher amount of energy and talked about geostratehicslly important items. We all just feel that political correctness has already gone far enough we didn't want more of that. .especially as political correctness on the other side seemed to mean that it's cool or even honorable to talk in the most vile ways about us just because we don't necessarily care about fifty million gender pronouns. ..we will learn them over time and we're on board with pretty much everything and that they should have the same rights as everyone else. .but to us the rivalry between china and the US matters more. They could very significantly - in a bad way - influence where humanity goes. We are really worried about that but perhaps never get to express it because you immediately label is as xyz.. racist...sexist. ..deplorable. .you name it
