FOX News: Navy SEAL Eddie Gallagher sentenced to reduced rank, partial pay, after being cleared of murder charges
Navy SEAL Eddie Gallagher will have his rank reduced and is sentenced to four months of confinement, which he has already served, for posing with the body of a dead Islamic State fighter, the San Diego jury decided Wednesday.
Gallagher's attorney confirmed to Fox News that he will retire from the U.S. Navy when he becomes eligible in about three weeks as he hits his 20 years of service.
The SEAL was found not guilty Tuesday on six of the most serious counts he was facing, including premeditated murder, willfully discharging a firearm to endanger human life, retaliation against members of his platoon for reporting his alleged actions, obstruction of justice and the attempted murders of two noncombatants.

Mr. Gallagher is the latest in a long line of white homicidal maniacs who have made America what it is today.
Hats off to you, good sir!!!!!!!! God speed!
I see Anon is quite the armchair historian. NOT!
Do you know how and why American military rotated its line divisions in WW2?
You do not and yet here you opine.
Maybe you have read up on the Lebanese Civil War, the atrocities and the counter atrocities. It ended although they still fought. How about the Luftwaffe going up against the SS to spring US airmen from a concentration camp and why they did it?
You have know ideal of when European warfare change for the 'better'.
If he was found not guilty why reduction in rank? Seems like over kill.

The not guilty part was to avoid repercussions with the grunts later. The reduction in rank was to give the message to the grunts that he could have suffered much worse, maybe next time, so if you do what he did, do a better job of covering it up.
The latter was also to show the world they take their responsibilities serious. /s
Once again Bob opens his mouth and removes all doubt as to his ignorance.
Bob, read the book "With the Old Breed". You know nothing about war dude. You have walked in those shoes a mile or a centimeter. You have gotten no where near those shoes.
You have given aid and comfort to the enemy.
Unlike you, I would rather hang around Gallagher than ISIS Beatles, but then you were never known to be bright.
Wasn't talking to you idiot.
Bob,
Not being conversant with military history in general or the outstanding book, a classic, mentioned in particular, you resorted to an ad hominem attack.
Now Bob how did thew US military rotate divisions in Europe in WW2 and why?
Is it a lack of reading or comprehension skills you have.
My reading comprehension skills are great. I just recognize you as an anti-American, anti-military dreg of society.
Next time, when you ask a question use proper punctuation. But I know that is too much to ask of you since your grammar, reading comprehension, and general knowledge are abysmal.
He is lucky he got off. The minute the Navy brings up charges like this, his career is over, whether or not he is guilty. Too many lawyers in the US military these days. Result of Vietnam and smaller wars since then. Seals are tough, tough men. I'm glad he got mostly off. Stupid for getting a picture with a dead terrorist.
This is nothing new. It has happened and will happen again.
In the book "With the Old Breed" on one of the islands a few or several men were collecting gold teeth from dead Japanese. According to the author word got back to the brass and they passed the word in person or through JOs and senior enlisted to stop it and it stopped.
Regardless of racial makeup or country of origin this will happen again in the future. It is kind of like what happens to cowards and braggarts before battle. Some braggarts flee in their first battle and some cowards man up. People, who are so over the top in the condemnation, if they would experience the same degree and duration of combat would the among the first people wearing necklaces of the fallen enemy soldiers.
That the brass lays down the law is good. It prevents future incidents to a degree. Sustained combat against ruthless people like ISIS is bound to make people a little bent. It is one reason that WW2 command structure wanted to limit time division spent in combat. It wasn't only about wearing soldiers out/ It was also about the soldiers not getting bent. The rule of thumb Was 90 days, if I remember correctly. Also there was a documentary called "Bible Battles" (2005). One of the narrators an American or Canadian narrator with a military background, who became a university lecturer and PhD talked about the early battles. After one of the battles Joshua had men camp out for 3 days before bringing them back into society.
Taking a picture of a corpse is nowhere near the same as cutting out teeth. It is not good, but is is orders of magnitude less of crime. It is NJP at worst.
I really enjoy people who live in a idyllic setting criticizing people, who make it possible. So much so, that I would not say fore or "See something, say something". I'll just duck, break out the popcorn, and let the prima dona get owned.
Do I blame Gallagher? No, I blame Congress and peaceniks
