When there are zero consequences for false accusations they become the norm.

Its amazing how these people come out of the woodwork with these allegations when someone is up for a job.

They wait until they can do the most damage with the least amount of effort. I think that from a woman's perspective the most serious damage they hope to cause is with the target's social circle, wife, daughters, friends although having the target be charged with a crime (even if they are cleared of the charge), demoted fired is good too. Attempts to molest are bad enough but documented rape in the military is significant.

They waited also because historically the military has not been particularly responsive to such claims in the past but there does seem to be some light.

I have always thought that the reason women claiming rape in the military got no attention or resolution was because if they did become notably responsive to women's claims the men would start too. How would you tout the strength and abilities of a military that is made up of men unable to defend themselves against rape, or even retaliate, when raped by their fellow soldiers?
