Politico: Democrats’ frustration with the news media boils over
Beto O’Rourke channeled the discontent best with an exasperated reaction to a question about what Trump could do in response to the deaths of 22 people in El Paso.
A liberal backlash against the news media’s coverage of Donald Trump and the 2020 race was already brewing when the New York Times published a five-word headline Monday night summarizing the president’s reaction to the mass shootings over the weekend: “Trump Urges Unity Vs. Racism.”
“Unbelievable,” steamed Beto O’Rourke. “That’s not what happened,” wrote Kirsten Gillibrand. “Lives literally depend on you doing better,” Cory Booker tweeted.
New York Times executive editor Dean Baquet said senior editors quickly recognized problems with the original headline Monday night and rewrote it. “The fact that Beto O’Rourke and Cory Booker didn’t like it didn’t influence me,” Baquet said in an interview Tuesday. “I don’t need the entire political field to tell me we wrote a bad headline. It was evident.”

WNU Editor: President Trump in his remarks did urge unity vs. racism .... so the original New York Times headline was accurate. So why the uproar? It kills the narrative that President Trump is a racist/KKK sympathizer/fascist/uncaring/selfish/anti-immigrant/etc.. who has no compassion. The problem for the Democrats and their media allies is that I do not think it is working.

Conservatives and fascists always have an excuse for despots and racists. The Editor is no different. He does a great job finding and posting articles but his Russian background makes him at best indifferent to the racism and fascism around him as demonstrated again by his comment on this article.
People who have experienced racism know that Trump is a racist. His vile speech causes harm and deaths. The last time similar words were spoken my extended family was murdered in the USSR by the Nazis. Perhaps the Editor has forgotten the lessons of history. Those who swim with fascists and racists are no better than those who actually speak the words and cause the harm.
Have some compassion and stop the chorus distorting obvious truth.

NYT got it right on the first try. There was a time when the old grey lady would have told the likes of AOC, Beto, Booker and Lawrence to pound sand. No longer. All they've done by bending to the self-promoting political outrage is cement the fact that they're just another whore to the Left.

PATCHOGUE, NY — Multiple fliers have been posted on street posts and parking meters in Patchogue reading "Death Camps For Trump Supporters Now!!!"
Pictures taken over the weekend and obtained by Patch showed two fliers hanging across the street from Stanley's Bedding Furniture on East Main Street, between Maple Avenue and North Ocean Avenue. Two more were also posted on a street sign and electrical box across the street from the nearby Family Dollar store.
The signs include a skeletal figure wearing a black jacket, white collared shirt and red tie. The words appear in red overlaying the photo.
The only racists are the ones crying racists. And The NY Times needs to adapt to their base.
Reuters is also one sided, I read them every day to get their take. It's stunning how one sided they are and put Conservatives and Trump is a bad light. That's just the nature of the news business these days. They should have their rights revoked! All of them!

If America is divided into thirds roughly (liberal, moderates/centrists/know-nothings, conservatives), If is obvious that 1/3rd of the population considers the NYT not the paper of record by a rag. A spunky liberal would say well 2/3rds still believe that the NYT is the gold standard. All a conservative needs is Trump's speech transcripts and photos of the before and after news papers.
