CNN: The tiny islands that could explode the China-Vietnam relationship

Da Nang, Vietnam (CNN)"The Paracel Islands!" the teacher shouts.

"Belong to Vietnam!" call back about 30 schoolchildren, even louder. Their chant echoes through the three-story Paracel Islands Museum in Da Nang, which officials say cost the Vietnamese government $1.8 million to build.

China vs Vietnam would be the equivalent of the Soviet Union's war vs Afghanistan. And with similar results.

We have to be on the side of Vietnam, no mater of what we think of the Vietnam regime.

Jac the Vietnamese regime, while certainly not democratic - as the blogger Ma (the famous blogger lady who was imprisoned for just blogging and speaking out against the regime will attest), it is also not a despicable regime like the one in North Korea. Far from it. People in Vietnam are incredibly happy, family oriented, pro-western (especially in the south), and there are tendencies for improvement. Gdp is growing a lot, the technology sector is booming (Samsungs biggest phone plant of the world is in Vietnam).. I think there is a lot of potential for Vietnam and even the "regime" is not brutal in nature. I would not be surprised at all if Vietnam were to become a democracy over night. Almost everyone wants it. Even within "the regime". I think it'll happen and very soon and it'll be an amazing party. I've lived there for years and I hope they'll make it. The Vietnamese are some of the nicest people on this planet, no match

Ps the blogger Ma was then released from prison way ahead of schedule. But still it shouldn't have happened
