Hundreds of thousands, if not millions, took to Hong Kong's streets to protest the extradition bill. Venus Wu
Business Insider: A protester takes us inside the demonstrations in Hong Kong
* Thousands have gathered in Hong Kong's streets for 10 weeks of protests, causing an airport shutdown and market volatility.
* Protesters initially gathered against the proposed extradition bill of Hong Kong residents to mainland China. Though the government has now indefinitely suspended the bill, protesters are calling for an official withdrawal of the bill and investigations into the police's use of force.
* Business Insider Today followed a protester into an illegal rally to see how Hong Kong residents are fighting for democracy.
Narrator: These protesters are using eye drops to ease the pain of tear gas.
Police say they have fired over 1,800 canisters since June.
And people like this 21-year-old Hong Kong student have spent their summer dodging chemical and rubber bullets.

WNU Editor: These protesters are saying the same thing that I heard in China in 1989 before the Tienanmen massacre. These is no hope for a better future. Nothing to lose. And a deep hatred directed at the Central government in Beijing.
Update: Michael Yon's on the ground reporting in Hong Hong is a must read. The link to his Facebook page is here .... MichaelYon.

Not knowing that you have more than one admirer of your perpetual, petulant clown act, you do not know any of us.
There are growing demonstrations in New York City against civilization led by Democrats.
https://nypost.com/2019/08/18/cop-hating-mob-at-brooklyn-housing-project-injures-three-nypd-officers/
Lets say some asswipe of a Democrat douses a cop with a bucket of water. Okay that did not make sense. It was redundant, since by definition Democrats are asswipes. Let's try this again.
Some Democrat voter douses a cop with a bucket of water. Subsequently, the cop has to stop another Democrats from assaulting a person. Instead of shooting the perp/Democrat, the officer reached for the taser instead of a gun. Since the taser is wet, it fritzes and the perp dies from being tasered. which sends other Democrats including the water douser into high dudgeon. Of course the Democrats will be deeply angered and offended although they are the guilty parties.
Democrats are throwing stuff from building tops in Brooklyn, which include bricks. A brick can easily kill. Throwing a brick is just as bad as shooting a bullet.
Things are getting more out of hand every day in NYC, yet Sandinista lover and commie boy de Blasio is out there trying to get elected president so that he can do the Peter Principle plus one.
_____
PS: Laurence J. Peter never considered how sick and demented Democrats would become. De Blasio is proof that you can rise much higher than the 1st level at which you were incompetent. As Rush would say failure is a resume enhancement for a Democrat.

Anon (9:05AM),
I don't recall stating that the American government did this. Perhaps you misunderstood or I wasn't clear. I did suggest that this could be a Chinese false flag or that the British may want Hong Kong back and could be behind the protests. I'm not the only commentator who has raised this possibility. In this context, they would likely try and manipulate us (the Americans) into getting involved on their half.
IMHO President Trump is many things, some good and some not, however I do not observe him to be swayed easily by ideology as it seems to me some past POTUSs were. With much to lose by getting involved with this and nothing really to gain I tend to discount any theory that would suggest the American government is involved in this. Since POTUS does not seem to me be easily swayed by ideology, when faced with such a situation, the best analysis would seem to me to suggest he would do all he could to keep us out of this.
Time permitting I will read the articles on this that the editor has posted. In the meantime, I felt it necessary to clear up your misunderstanding.
At least in the media, not much seems to have actually been done to analyze just who these protestors actually are and what they really want. Hint: if you cause an airport shutdown, this isn't the right stuff which to win friends and influence people with.
Who reads more than a line or two of B Posers BS before your eye glaze over and your quit to save your sanity?
Something definitely off with B Poser.
Anon 10:35AM,
Beautiful Rush quote! Geeeze that's funny. A keeper! Thank you sir!
Roger,
I should have used quotes and provided a reference. Rush has said it many times in various incarnations.
The first link gives his reason as to why the Democrats do it.
Now, I’ve often believed that the best resume enhancement you can have as a liberal is to fail.
“Now, on the one sense, it makes sense because Democrats fail up. Resume is enhanced as a Democrat by doing dumb, stupid things and getting caught. Failure is a resume enhancement of the Democrat side,” - Limbaugh

"Who reads more than a line or two..." If you took the time to read my posts you might learn something. I always try and read every post thoroughly before commenting on someone's post. The issues discussed here simply are not something that can be neatly compacted into a talking point. In order to address complex issues, effort and time are required.
"Something definitely off with B Poser." You didn't get the screen name right here. Is it because you didn't take the time to properly read the posts or is it because you wish to insult me. Generally I find that insults are a sign of a weak argument or position that cannot be justified based upon its merits. Therefore the holder of such positions resorts to insults as a mechanism to avoid having to challenge their preconceptions.
Every time I take a position here I try and state the position clearly and I try and explain how I arrived at the position. As new information comes available, sometimes positions have to be changed based upon new evidence. Always challenge your preconceptions!!
If you are going to say "something definitely off" with me or to refer to my posts as "BS," it would help to know specifically what you are referring to. If I am error on something, I appreciate correction and dialogue on the specific issue. Then again you actually admit to not having actually expended the time or the effort to read the posts.
Now if you wish to discuss the nature of the Hong Kong protests, I am all eyes and would appreciate any comments you may have on this and I will respond to them as time permits. I am quite busy. If you want to persist in insults and name calling (trolling) such actions are a complete waste of time.
Trolling?
Hardly.
I just wish a pro-Russian, pro-Chinese troll would GTFA.
Poster
Consider the unintelligent person taking issue and move on. I do most times but often I post something in response, not for the idiot to read but for a couple of lurker friends of mine, you know, inside jokes and such.
I'm not pro-Russian nor am I pro-Chinese but since you haven't actually read the posts you may not have figured that out. I am pro-American. As such, I advocate for policies that I truly believe will best advance American interests based upon what I truly believe is careful and honest research. Now will I always have the right answers? Probably not and we do have be willing to reevaluate our positions as new information becomes available.
Trolling in terms of the definition of internet troll is someone who gets off topic and insults others on the site either for their amusement or some other gain. On this thread you have done both of these things. As such, by definition you would be an internet troll.
I on the other hand have tried very hard to stay on topic and am always extremely respectful to everyone here. If you have something of value to add to the topic at hand which is the Hong Kong protests, I would like to see it. In the absence of being able to do this, perhaps it is you who needs to go away.
Just comparing and contrasting the state of social unrest in 2 great cities.
