The Hill: Trump has asked aides about possibility of US acquiring Greenland: report
President Trump has privately asked aides about the possibility of purchasing Greenland, an autonomous Danish territory, the Wall Street Journal reported Thursday.
Two advisers told the Journal that Trump asked them and other advisers at dinners and in passing conversations whether such a move would be possible, listening intently when they talked about its resources and geopolitical importance.
He also reportedly asked his White House counsel to look into the idea.

WNU Editor: The Wall Street Journal is using two sources (i.e. two aides) for this story. Is it true? Like many of these stories I have become skeptical on what the media reports. But with only 56,000 inhabitants, and being an autonomous Danish territory, it is up to them on what they want .... ‘We’re NOT for sale’: Greenland shoots down Trump plan to buy island (The Independent).

Isn't that sweet. Fred Lapides is blog pimping his website that features naked women.
"YOU CAN ALWAYS TELL A MAN BY HIS SHOES"
It is not like the PhD was going to real in traffic with his witty writing.
MY TRAFFIC IS A LOT HIGHER THAN YOUR IQ and is pro bono, though not related to Sonny Bono, and I have been doing my site more years than you have spent going to school. So worry not about me, my site, and just tend your own garden. It needs weeding
Badshit,
Your accomplishment is not surprising since your sites main draw is pictures of crotch shots.
The internet wouldn’t exist without porn
Your using blogspot and know a little XML & HTML. Not much of a follow on accomplishment for a PhD.
President Andrew Johnson 1st considered purchasing Greenland.
This idea has been around for awhile.
Greenland is a large financial drain on Denmark. However the US might be able to run around the Greenland economy if it were to purchase Greenland.
Greenland was important in WW2. Both Greenland and Canada were invaded by the NAZIs due to their strategic importance.
In a new confrontation with Russia, Greenland would likewise be important.
It is not anything I would expect a smut peddler to know or realize.
"I have been doing my site more years than you have spent going to school" and it's never improved. I wouldn't brag about your site anymore if I were you.
All very simple--don't like it, don't visit it. There are thousands who enjoy it...we somehow manage to survive without you. And will continue to. Go forth and sin no more
The only sin is the quality of your site or better said lack of quality. But it is an excellent exposition of you the person
again: why your hangup? You are not wanted or welcomed at my site.

That's not being very inclusive for a "Liberal of such outstanding education and self proclaimed intelligence", must be that old "heat in the kitchen" thing.
Here let me help you, "I know you are, what am I?" (Sic)
I wouldn't go to your site. You might be downloading malware, when you download the "Free" porn.
You are not the brightest bulb in the chandelier.
There might be a few interesting science articles that you have found, but I can find much better aggregator sites (without the potential malware).
This looks intriguing. The website live science also reported on this. The natural resources and the geopolitical significance of this region seem to be beyond dispute.
This would/could be a huge asset for anyone who owns it. Furthermore if regulatory reforms and tax cuts similar to what have been introduced in the United States were to be introduced to Greenland I could see the economy there really taking off much as it has in the United States.
There would be costs associated with this. With a population of 56,000 or so spread accross such a large area that contains vast natural resources along with significant geo political importance it will be extremely costly to defend. With Denmark already a member of NATO and Greenland an autonomous region of Denmark means Greenland is a member of NATO as well. As a member of NATO, the US is already obligated to defend Greenland in the event of a military invasion.
We actually might be able to stop here. This alone would be a sound reason to try and purchase this. As we are already obligated to defend it any way, we may as well be able to reap some of the benefits associated with the natural resources. Additionally, when freed from the yoke of Denmark, I think it will lower the costs of defending Greenland and now that it would be US territory I think it'd be much less likely someone would attack it.
There will be other costs associated with this. Can we actually afford it? Given all of the other enormous costs we currently have or will have in the future (unfunded liabilities), do the benefits outweigh the costs? In other words, is this a good investment for us.
Before making a decision we will need to know what Denmark wants for Greenland. Then we will need to carefully analyze the costs associated with defending and administering Greenland. Purchasing, defending, and administering Greenland will have opportunity costs. In other words, this will mean we will need to give up something. This careful cost/benefit analysis will need to be presented to the American people and we will need to have ample time to carefully study it before agreeing to purchase it.
Is Greenland even for sale? While the official says no, my "gut" says it is for sale and Denmark is looking at offers. After all it's generally not considered good negotiating tactics to show to much interest early. Given the administrative costs and increased geopolitical tensions between the US and Russia and China combined with the natural resources Greenland has to offer, Denmark may have concluded now is a good time to sell. After all get out when the profit can be maximized.
If the US doesn't make the purchase, I can think of others who would assuming it's for sale. I'm thinking China would be interested. Also, a sale to China likely would not face the kind of scrutiny a sale to the US would. Should Denmark accept the US offer I can already envision massive lawsuits coming to try and block the sale. This tends to scare sellers away. As such, to win the bid, the US will likely need to pay a premium and is it even worth it? A careful analysis would definitely be needed.
