CNN: Recalling deaths of MLK and Robert Kennedy, Biden poses hypothetical question about an Obama assassination
Hanover, New Hampshire (CNN)During a town hall Friday afternoon, former Vice President Joe Biden asked a New Hampshire audience to imagine what it would have been like if Barack Obama had been assassinated when he became the Democratic nominee for president in 2008 and how it would've affected the country.
The scenario came as Biden discussed the impact that the 1968 assassinations of Martin Luther King Jr. and Robert F. Kennedy had on his own life and how that had prompted him to run for office.
"My two political heroes were MLK and Bobby Kennedy. My senior semester, they were both shot and killed," Biden said during a health care town hall at Dartmouth College. "Imagine if, God forbid, Barack Obama had been assassinated after becoming the de facto nominee. What would have happened in America?"

WNU editor: Since the beginning of this blog I have more than once mentioned my worst nightmare .... the assassination of a major world leader like the U.S. President. I know that it was a long day and he was tired, but former Vice-President Biden's hypothetical question about an Obama assassination should not have been asked. There are more than enough crazy people out there who may interpret a hypothetical question from a public figure like Joe Biden into something that it is not.

Biden is a Democrat. 'Should not' never applies to him.
I understand from sources that Biden is in serious and measurable cognitive decline and taking medication for it. The fact that a man in his condition can seriously run for president of the US shows that there are powerful men backing him who are hoping that Biden can keep his mouth closed long enough to be elected.

Since it didn't happen the "God forbid" intonation is superfluous, but likely when he said it Biden meant God forbid it should happen to me. He is a poor choice, but is likely the choice of the DNC for the nomination.
