Moscow Times/Reuters: Viral Clip of Russian Policeman Punching Young Woman During Protests Stirs Anger
Video footage of a Russian police officer punching a young woman in the stomach has stirred anger among many Russians who believe the authorities have used excessive force to disperse weeks of political demonstrations in Moscow.
The clip, filmed Saturday and later circulated online by Russian celebrities with millions of followers, shows the moment two helmeted riot policemen drag the woman, Daria Sosnovskaya, to a waiting police bus.
Sosnovskaya, 26, is seen struggling to break free and trying to trip up one of the police officers who responds by punching her in the stomach, prompting one of the reporters filming the incident to sarcastically call the policeman "a hero."

WNU Editor: This week's demonstration in Moscow was a turning point for many of my family members/friends/and contacts in Moscow.... Tens Of Thousands Rally In Moscow For Fair Elections (August 10, 2019). They do not like what is happening. They do not like police officers arresting people on the streets arbitrarily. And they certainly do not want to see police officers punching young women on the streets. Does everyone in Moscow and outside of Moscow feel the same way? Will all of this translate into something bigger for the opposition to coalesce around and use? Moscow's municipal elections are next month, and we should know before then.

Bad, but still nothing compared to the French police against the Gilets Jaunes. Many men and women lost eyes, or suffered similar injuries.
I'm no fan of the Russians, but that was a single punch in the solar plexus. Pretty small potatoes compared to 'real' brutality.
Somehow I doubt Navalny will suddenly jump from 1.5% support to 50% over a youtube video. Still, it was a shitty thing for the cop to do. If two males can't get one woman into custody maybe they should've tried handcuffing her first. You know, basic policing stuff.
