France 24: Turkey 'strongly' condemns air strike on its convoy in Syria

Turkey’s defence ministry “strongly” condemned an air strike on its military convoy heading through Syria’s Idlib province on Monday, which it said was a violation of agreements with Russia.

“Despite repeated warnings we made to the authorities of the Russian Federation, the military operations by the regime forces continue in Idlib region in violation of the existing memorandums and agreements with the Russian Federation,” the ministry said in a statement.

The latest news is that the Turkish soldiers are now trapped inside the besieged area of Khan Sheikhoun. As is typical for the rebels, they've devolved into blaming each other and began fighting amongst themselves instead of reinforcing the collapsing front. When this happens it always signals that the pocket will surrender in days and negotiate with the government to get bussed deeper into the relative safety of Idlib. Why this instance is more interesting than the previous ones is because those Turkish soldiers may have no choice but to get on the green busses and be escorted out in a highly embarrassing fashion.
