Former Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis: Pakistan The Most Dangerous Country In The World

Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis and President Donald Trump at the Pentagon following a meeting of the National Security Council in Washington, D.C., July 20, 2017. (DOD/U.S. Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class Dominique A. Pineiro)

Business Insider: Mattis says the most dangerous country in the world is Pakistan

* Former Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis considers Pakistan the most dangerous country in the world.
* "This is a much worse problem, I think, than anyone is writing about today," he said at an event on Tuesday.
* "We can't have the fastest-growing nuclear arsenal in the world falling into the hands of the terrorists breeding in their midst," Mattis writes in his latest book, "Call Sign Chaos."
* Mattis also spoke about what he called the "very twisted" relationship between the US and Pakistan. While the US relies on Pakistan to help it in peace talks with the Taliban, the Trump administration also pulled hundreds of millions of dollars in funding from the Pakistani military.

While the world has its fair share of hot spots, from Afghanistan to Venezuela to Yemen, former Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis said at an event in New York on Tuesday that Pakistan topped his list of most dangerous countries.

"Of all the countries I've known, I consider Pakistan to be the most dangerous," Mattis wrote in his latest book, "Call Sign Chaos: Learning to Lead."

"This is a much worse problem, I think, than anyone is writing about today," he said.

WNU Editor: I agree with his analysis. Pakistan's command and control systems for its nuclear weapons have always been a source of concern for everyone. It is also a country that has thousands of fanatical jihadists who would love to get there hands of a nuclear weapon. I call this a dangerous mixture and a disaster just waiting to happen.

Trump gets bipartisan pressure to release Ukraine funds meant to combat Russia

When I read "The Golden Fleece" by Canadian author Robert J. Sawyer, I thought that not would be the Middle East or Pakistan (not India) that would start World War Omega.

Waiting for the hidden Iman or not being able to wait for the 72 virgins. is very hard for so called men who have to grow beards to prove to themselves and the world that they are men. It is not like the world would see them do honest work.

Some biddy has his tighty whities all twisted. Why are the concerned with Ukraine? You were not concerned with Georgia. If Poot Poot, who Hillary kissed up to with her misspelled reset button, had been stopped cold in Georgia maybe Ukraine might not have happened.

It is kind of like when the NAZIs marched across the Rhine in 1936. If they had been stopped then, Anschluss, Czechoslovakia and Poland might not have happened.

To be fair no Democrat TPM went out on Georgia, so like an obedient drone Parrot did not talk about it.

There you go again with the garden, weeds, and misfit thingy. Do you ever have an original thought? Surely in your varied and storied ( according to you) career you had other ideas, come on give it a try.

Mattis: Obama Failed to Respond to Iran Bomb Plot on U.S. Soil Because of Nuclear Deal

This is not news.

Obama failed at anything that was good.

The duty officer at his Tampa, Florida, headquarters on Oct. 11, 2011 told him that the attorney general and FBI director had held a press conference to announce the arrest of two Iranians who had planned a bomb attack on Cafe Milano, a high-end restaurant in Washington that was a favorite of the rich and famous, including Saudi Arabia’s ambassador, Adel al-Jubeir.

they were caught. no bomb went off. Mattis says; but officials say otherwise. Mattis says he had seen but no evidence given. And so we were to go to war with Iran?

Question: Were we suppose to go to war over the state sanctioned, terrorist bombing planned by Iran.

Answer: It definitely fits the definition of casus belli, but a nation state does not have to respond to a casus belli with automatic declaration of wars.

However sending the Iranians billions, repealing sanctions and keeping mum about it was wrong. Barry Soetero, the Muslim, did the exact wrong thing.

The plot was uncovered. Sp, obviously the Iranians know we have sources and methods that detected the Iranians. So they would look for moles or the communication protocols. So Bathhouse making a bid deal about it would not have given away sources and methods. It would have put the Iranians on notice and maybe made them more amenable to flying right. Instead Obama played it so low key that the ayatollahs see him as weak. The world knew that when he bowed down to every world leader to apologize and gravel that his ass was higher than his head.

Prosecuting a few foot soldiers and jailing them for a mere handful of years in no way dissuades the leaders and middle managers from future terrorist actions.
