Iran Denies Responsibility For Drone Attacks On Saudi Arabia's Oil Plants. Declares That It Is Ready For War

SKY News: Iran says it's ready for war with US after Saudi oil attack accusations

Iran says that US bases and aircraft carriers, which are stationed up to 2,000km around Iran, are within range of its missiles.

Iran has dismissed US accusations it was behind drone attacks on Saudi Arabia's oil plants, and warned it is ready for a "full-fledged" war.

Iranian foreign ministry spokesman Abbas Mousavi said Washington had adopted a "maximum pressure" strategy against Iran, but because of "it's failure [the US] is leaning toward maximum lies".

WNU Editor: Iran can deny responsibility for this attack on Saudi Arabia, but they made it very clear at the beginning of this year that if they could not export oil, no one else would. And after oil tanker attacks and oil tanker seizures, it looks like they are making good on their threats by escalating this conflict.

If the Iranians are found to be, and are held responsible for the attack on the oil facilities, and if in fact they are guilty, would a punishing attack incite them to destroy the rest Saudi facilities, an act of which they "appear" fully capable?

Damn those pesky drones anyway.

and what if they are not reponsible and we want a war?

As you are no doubt aware, one way or another eventually America always gets the wars it wants.

The thing is the impact and security provided by the ability to wage war, directly or by proxy, on anyone without serious death and destruction at home, has made the American people somewhat beligerant regarding the serious impact war has brought to others around the world.

That time is slowly changing as other nations develop/acquire similar capability such as being able to launch missiles over great distances. When the day comes that the US is required to actually defend against incoming, at home, the possibility exists of some getting through bringing the horrors, death and destruction to the homeland.

What then, hit the doomsday button?

"Somewhat beligerant" ?? What

I think Americans no very well about the destructive nature of war; Revolutionary War, Civil War, Pearl Harbor, Twin Towers etc. Maybe people should read their history but the data is clear and I think we understand much more than a society that's in the dark.

Yes Mike, Americans know some relatively small bit about war at home with the Civil War being the best example, albeit learning about it exclusively from movies and novels, but they still tolerate their government making war as long as the death and suffering is directed on other innocent people elsewhere. And of course the Civil war was Americans making war on Americans. Thank you for bringing up something that makes my point so succinctly.

As for Pearl Harbor and the Twin Towers, the latter which you no doubt remember was subject to two attacks was left wide open for the second try. At worst it was intentional, at best, the major military power in the world simply left its border unprotected. I know the actual attack was initiated inside the country but in its efforts to counter what they thought was an external attack the Air Force fumbled the ball miserably. I am sure you will agree that it was a good thing there wasn't an external, perhaps nuclear, attack going on that day. Feeling safe today are you?

While Pearl and 9/11 touched the hearts and minds of Americans, the government ignored indications that both were coming. So much for hearts and minds of the American people as regards government's involvement in both.

My post was of course directed at successive war minded governments, not the American people per se.

We're entering a dangerous time. Wars were always started by those who think they'll benefit the most, in treasure, freedom, territory or pride.
But now the instigators could be Iran, could be China. Could be someone who works in oil or arms. Drones as we all see can start a war. And you can buy them online at prosumer level. 2020-2025 will be scary

They won't be capable of a, encore performance.

It might help mankind to think of the "instigators" as being "retaliators." and act accordingly to avoid such creations.
