Israeli Election Results -- News Updates September 18, 2019

Daily Mail: Benjamin Netanyahu fights to hold on as Prime Minister as early Israeli election results show the two main political parties are deadlocked

* Partial results in Israel's election showed Netanyahu's Likud party and rival Benny Gantz's Blue and White party tied on 32 seats each, neither with a majority
* If result holds, it puts political future of Israel's longest-serving leader in doubt
* Avigdor Lieberman, leader of centrist Yisrael Beiteinu, emerged as king-maker
* He has called for a secular national unity government made up of both parties

Benjamin Netanyahu is facing an uphill battle to keep his job after his party lost seats in Israel's election, leaving him deadlocked with his biggest political rival.

According to partial results, Netanyahu's Likud party and rival Benny Gantz's Blue and White party were tied on 32 seats each in the 120-seat Knesset.

If that result proves final then it would reduce Netanyahu's right-wing coalition government to 56 seats overall - five short of a majority - raising the prospect of an end to his record-breaking rule.

But Netanyahu, who is facing a corruption probe which would intensify if he was forced from power, refused to concede on Wednesday morning.

So basically a tie. The military vote is stil yet to come in. They normally go to Likud. Bibi still has a chance.

Did parrot vote?

If he did, I wonder how he voted.

How did Haaretz tell him how to vote?

Did he vote in Israel and from Florida?

Is Neville his hero?

I like Bolton. There are so many doves and pussies around, a man like him is needed.

However, I think sanction if given another 3 full years will topple the mullahs without war.

I generally like Bolton too. As with any leader we probably will not agree with everything they do or say. I think he is a true patriot. Unfortunately he is like a hammer when a chisel is needed and he seems to lack the flexibility to adjust to rapidly changing situations. Also, his judgement has at times been questionable such as suggesting that North Korea pursue the Libya model with regards nuclear disarmament. This alone would probably warrant his dismissal.

I think the Iran situation was probably the final straw. Trump appears to think sanctions are the route to go and as the team leader he is going to want advisors who align with his general vision. Generally any leader expects this. Those who cannot adhere to this should have the decency and integrity to resign. As such, I'm not entirely thrilled with how Bolton has been acting here. He seems to be behaving a bit childish here. When combined with the general unpopularity of the views he espouses combined with the propensity of POTUS to hit back very effectively when attacked this actually doesn't seem like a very good career move for Mr. Bolton.

I think the sanctions combined with the Israeli attacks on Iranian positions in Syria, mostly the Israeli military actions, have a real chance to work. Iran had been slowly moving toward negotiations. The attack on Saudi Arabia complicates things. We have to remember this was an attack on Saudi Arabia not America. Also, we don't know who actually carried out the attacks. I think it was either the Houthis who claim responsibility or rogue elements in the Iranian military and due to prior messaging the Iranian leadership obviously cannot publicly plead for calm and expect to live long.

Basically I see no reason to change course right now and based upon the course set Bolton was/is probably ill suited to carry out that which needs to be done and he lacks the flexibility to adjust to fluid and dynamic rapidly changing situations. As such, I think POTUS had no choice but ro terminate his employment.
