If Britain had put 1,000 troops in Czechoslovakia, the German generals would have balked at invading.

The German Generals were hesitant to cross the Rhine into the Saar in 1936. It worked. Then the Anschluss.

After 2 Huge wins and then the Sudentenland acquisition the German generals went with Hitler.

After France 1940 80% or 90% were all in.

All it would have took is a little bit of backbone. Britain was afraid because they were not ready. Well neither were the Germans. The German general figured they would not be read until the late 1940s or early 1950s. That is the Germans were not ready either. Hitler forced the generals to go with the Army they had.

Germany was about broke due to the arms build up. If Germany had not gone to war, the government would have fallen.
