U.S. National Security Adviser John Bolton Has Been Fired By President Trump

Daily Mail: BREAKING NEWS: Donald Trump FIRES his National Security Advisor John Bolton saying they 'disagreed strongly' - but aide says he TRIED to resign last night and was brushed off by the president

* Trump fired Bolton by tweet two minutes before midday Tuesday in a dramatic and unexpected move
* He said he 'disagreed strongly' with Bolton 'as did others in the administration' hinting at internal fallouts between Bolton and Mike Pompeo
* But within minutes Bolton himself tweeted, apparently from the White House's own network, that he had tried to resign last night and been blown off
* The two had clashed on Iran and North Korea and most recently on peace talks with the Taliban, with Bolton opposing attempts for an Afghan peace deal
* Bolton, 70, had been in Trump's national security aide since April 2018 after the president dispensed with three-star Army general H.R. McMaster

Donald Trump announced Tuesday that he has fired his national security adviser, John Bolton saying he 'disagreed strongly' with him - and was immediately contradicted by Bolton, who said he had tried to quit first.

'I informed John Bolton last night that his services are no longer needed at the White House,' the president said in a tweet two minutes before midday, and an hour before Bolton was supposed to give a briefing to reporters at the White House.

'I disagreed strongly with many of his suggestions, as did others in the Administration, and therefore I asked John for his resignation, which was given to me this morning.'

Trump said he would name a new national security adviser next week.

WNU Editor: The media is going nuts over this story, but no one really knows what transpired on Monday between President Trump and National Security Adviser Bolton when he offered to resign. John Bolton's differences with President Trump and members in his administration have been well known for a long time, but it never resulted in him being fired. My guess is that it was over the fall-out of the Taliban - Camp David meeting that President Trump cancelled at the last minute that broke the "camel's back" between these two men. My gut tells me that John Bolton was upset over the prospect of the Taliban showing up at Camp David, and he made his opinion widely known, even threatening to resign. I give it a couple more days before the true details come out.

DJT is the final arbiter. "The buck stops here". Bolton has his opinion and voiced it but for appearance's sake there should be a unified front.

For years I've felt Bolton was too aggressive and inflexible. Nothing is impossible for the man who doesn't have to do it.

I blame Obama and the Democrats

I also blame Obama and the Democrats. They coasted for 8 years. The world's conditioning should be so alarming, but it is.

I appreciate John Bolton very much, but I believe Roger is right.

Both Trump and Bolton are good, but they cannot coexist in the same organization and Trump is the captain, so...

Trump. Minutes ago in North Carolina. "Under the normal rules, I'll be out by 2024, so we may have to go for an extra term." This man is not your typical U.S. politician. He is a fascist. He must be removed from office now. https://t.co/AWRTqrRfcU
Very Stable Genius, Very Stable Government: John Bolton fired by tweet. // I'll bet this has to do with Trump's terrible plan to host the Taliban at Camp David close to the anniversary of 9/11. // With that said: Good riddance, John Bolton.
Trump: "I know nothing about an Air Force plane landing at an airport (which I do not own and have nothing to do with)." // Trump has a deal with Glasgow Prestwick Airport to direct planes to them, and for them to direct aircrews to his Turnberry resort. // So. Much. Lying. So. Much. Cheating.
