Paul Bedard, Washington Examiner: Battleground: 7 in 10 say US ‘on the edge of civil war’
Partisan political division and the resulting incivility has reached a low in America, with 67% believing that the nation is nearing civil war, according to a new national survey.
“The majority of Americans believe that we are two-thirds of the way to being on the edge of civil war. That to me is a very pessimistic place,” said Mo Elleithee, the executive director of Georgetown University’s Institute of Politics and Public Service.

WNU Editor: I have seen enough conflicts in my life to know that the U.S. is still far away from a "civil war". But political animosities are at an all time high, and criminalizing political policy positions (which is what this impeachment inquiry is all about) is only going to make it worse.

I use to pass by Republican and Democrat cemeteries. I thought the idea was ignorant a the time.
I don't any longer. Democrats need to be excommunicated. I am not talking about ex-communicated per any denomination or religion, just generically excommunicated.
Too many time in the past few years and also before Trump, we have heard of some liberal yahoo or wingnut earnestly propose locking up people who do not believe as they do.
You know stupid people, who are illiterate and often times cannot walk a few blocks to a precinct voting place unless a liberal apparatchik drives them there.
And greedy people, who will tell any lie and pay organized criminal gangs to obtain power.

Few would've said Ukraine's maidan protests were the onset of a civil war. And then Mrs. Nuland's snipers started shooting cops and civilians alike. Both sides claimed to be the victims (and to have the moral high-ground) because both sides were the victims.
All it takes is a catalyst to tip this zeitgeist of divisiveness over the edge.
There are many reason to go to war.
For one Democrats are turning off people's utilities so that they (The Democrats) may live religiously pure lives.
If Democrats want to be observant and turn off the electricity and only affect themselves that is fine.
Instead Democrats want to turn off utilities for other people and not themselves. Sure a some low ranking Democrat foot soldiers and aesthetics might lose utilities, but the Pharisee Democrats cannot be bothered.
Utilities turned off by the Pharisee Democrats include cell phones, electricity, gas stations and more.
Fear mongering. And it is not “criminalizing political policy positions”, it’s using the power of the presidency for personal gain. Do not let them change the argument.
