A New U.S. Government After 2020?

Vice President Mike Pence applauds as Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi remains in her seat and looks through a copy of the speech as President Donald Trump arrives to deliver his second State of the Union address to a joint session of the U.S. Congress in the House Chamber on Capitol Hill in Washington, February 5, 2019. Axios: The GOP's nightmare scenario

A growing number of Republicans are privately warning of increasing fears of a total wipeout in 2020: House, Senate, and White House.

Why it matters: All of this is unfolding while the economy still looks strong, and before public impeachment proceedings have officially begun.

Update: Democrats see hopes rise in Senate with impeachment (The Hill)

WNU Editor: Still to early to make predictions. The economy is doing well, and President Trump's base is still there. There is also the Democrats themselves, and the policies that they are pushing. Policies that I do not think most Americans support. But the mood for something different is also occurring in the U.S.. When you have polls consistently producing results like this .... Poll: 7 In 10 Millennials Would Vote For A Socialist. 1 In 3 Approve Of Communism (October 28, 2019), it is clear to me that new voters want something different.

I would think long and hard what these polls are really saying.

If people want socialism, it shows that idiots in academia are brainwashing people.

I can remember dropping a history course in college. I got to the department early in the morning and sat in the hallway waiting for the prof to show up to sign the drop request. All I heard was about 3 profs derisively saying Reagan this and Reagan that.

Academia has been at it for a long time.

No doubt those polls are scary. Especially the polls indicating 7 out of ten millennials prefer socialism/communism. The GOP fundraising numbers are also worrying.

However depressing these opinion polls are, I can only pout to some recent ACTUAL polls in North Carolina and Louisiana. Where 2 GOP candidates won their races against previously leading Dems. And the GOP forced a run off for the LA governor’s seat.

Sampling weights and bias are baked into opinion polls. That’s why the Dems have been so timid in this “impeachment inquiry “. And I still have enough faith in the American people that they will not be led toward suicidal socialism.

the Democrats only have one policy: get rid of Trump. Meanwhile, California's burning, other parts of the country are in drought or are flooding, the health care system is quietly being crushed by the austerity demands of Obamacare (my wife is a nurse, I hear about this every day) and a blowout of the banking system worse than that of 2008 is around the corner but the Democrats aren't doing anything about any of these things that real people deal with on a daily basis. If they succeed in dumping Trump, disaster will surely follow.

"I would think long and hard what these polls are really saying."

There does seem to be a mood for change and if you ask the question would you want to see the country move towards Communism, or, Socialism I can see people opting for the most radical change possible, on a survey that is, out of a need for a return to what they perceive as better times.

After all the level of support given to Trump an obvious crook vs the DNC strongly that line of thought thought.

The same polls that said that Hillary was going to win in a landslide?

The GOP and Trump have done nothing other than giving huge tax breaks to the wealthy and yet you blame the Dems? shame on you

Trump lives for the moment and the promises he made helped him realize that most important moment in his life, so far, becoming President. The next milestone in his life is re-election as that will approve everything he did in his first term, and forgive not keeping his promises. The latter he doesn't likely even remember.

There should be enough money available for healthcare, infrastructure etc., but I get the feeling that the wealthy in the world, not just the USA, fully believe in the issue of global warming. In the likelihood of it happening they may well believe that the ones with the money will survive.

Perhaps some enterprising journalist should consider an expose regarding the safety measures the wealthy have put in place for that eventuality. Likely massive underground facilities close to fresh water reserves and lots of stored dried food. The kind of facilities some nations prepared in anticipation of the Nuclear holocaust that never arrived. Most likely those existing facilities are well stocked for the preservation of the relative few who qualify.

Trump has been keeping his promises.

Building the wall, renegotiating trade deals, tax cuts.

Lie, Bob, Lie. It is what you are good at.

People in the western provinces are getting sick of creatures like you.

There are 75 miles of new wall.

As sectors with new wall have their stats compared to sectors with vehicle barriers, no wall and old wall, the clamor will be there to get new wall built there too.

Everyone knows that RINOs, Dmikns, CHUDS, and cucks have gone to court to prevent the wall from being built.

We know to blames the CHUDS of the Democrat Party.

We love you stupid CHUDS. In the last year in the next city to the east, a dreamer ran over a citizen riding a motorcycle. The next city to my SW, a dreamer raped and murdered a college girl. So really, we all appreciate what you CHUDS are doing to us.

Keep CHUDDING, you ignorant mother.

"Calif fires in part due to climate change and Trump and gang deny this too"

In California they use to have fire breaks, but the Dims said that hurt animals. Got rid of those.

The utility is not allowed to cut trees away form or under the power lines. More shittedness by Dimocrats.

I know you are a Dim, but put your beak to the grindstone and try to figure out the graph you idiot.

Any bets on whether the beakhead knows what the Maunder Minimum was?

Maybe, if we could rhyme it with something and put it into a nursery rhyme, ti would be dumbed down enough and simple enough that finally the beakhead would understand.

Trump's Right About California's Fires: It Wasn't Climate Change; Two New California Laws Prove It

YOUR INSULTS TELL US MORE ABOUT YOU THAN THOSE YOU BADMOUTH

There is no question that climate change has played a significant role in shaping the number and intensity of these fires. In recent years, California’s climate has gotten hotter. Drier conditions mean less snowpack in the Sierras, less runoff in the spring, and less moisture for vegetation. These conditions have made it especially easy for massive wildland fires to ignite and quickly burn through parched vegetation.

As the The New York Times reports, nine of the ten largest fires in the state’s history have occurred in the past ten years, and it’s no coincidence that nine of the ten hottest years on record have happened since 2000. In 2016, the hottest year on record, the average global temperature was 1.78 degrees Fahrenheit above the 20th-century average, according to NOAA.
