Another Day Of Protests In Hong Kong

Time: Unrest Continues Unabated in Hong Kong as March on Rail Terminus Degenerates into Arson and Street Battles

Tens of thousands of anti-communist protesters defied an official ban to march through one of Hong Kong’s prime tourist districts Sunday. But what began as a peaceful demonstration followed the usual pattern and degenerated into violence, arson and destruction.

Marchers originally intended to rally at the West Kowloon high-speed rail terminus—a showpiece transport hub, built at a cost of $10.7 billion, connecting the former British colony to mainland Chinese cities. Some parts of the facility are subject to mainland customs and immigration laws and therefore the terminus is seen as a symbol of Beijing’s presence by many protesters, whose push for greater political freedom has taken on an increasingly anti-China tone over five months of unrest.

Getting more violent in Hong Kong. I am surprised the Chinese haven't clamped down. I have no doubt they eventually will but it is best if they get it over with. I remember when Beirut Lebanon lost its position in the financial world.

This shows that PRC is under higher threat from civil war than imperial one.

When it goes on for so long, it becomes part of who the people are..

The Chinese will send the military for sure ONCE it's November (cannot happen in the same month as we had the 70 year anniversary).. and they will wait for or create a media diversion. And it will be swift, brutal and with media blackout..

Most likely, they have generated a list of suspects.. perhaps 10,000 or more. They will go door to door, grab them at night (as they did with the book sellers) and transport them all on trucks to China for some good old Chinese torture - the famous sleep depreviation halls. Then those who survive (90% of them, as most are relatively young) will be pulled in front of cameras to "admit" their "crimes", go to prison for a couple years and then be sent back to Hong Hong as broken people, perhaps, perhaps not.

The Chinese will squash Hong Kong - this is the only way forward for them. If they don't do this, then other breakaways might follow and the idea of freedom might spread in China. The party cannot have this. There is no freedom of speech or freedom to protest/oppose the party in China. All those who were identified in Hong Kong - will have their life ended financially, socially. And their families perhaps too. It is an entirely different system than we have. Well, not that different, if you look at the Democrat party in the US. They are almost as bad.
