The Guardian: Kurds reach deal with Damascus in face of Turkish offensive
Agreement to hand over border towns comes after more than 700 Isis affiliates escape camp
More than 700 people with links to Islamic State have escaped from a detention camp in north-east Syria, as the Kurdish-led forces in control of the area reached a deal with the Assad regime to stave off a bloody five-day-old Turkish assault.
Kurdish fighters controlling the region would surrender the border towns of Manbij and Kobane to Damascus in a deal brokered by Russia, officials said on Sunday night.

WNU Editor: President Trump gave a hint on Friday that something was in the works when he said that he hoped that Russia would step in to protect the Kurds. And make no mistake about this Syrian government - Kurd agreement, both Russia and the U.S. are behind it. For the Syrian government this is a huge win. They are now able to claim that they have re-establish their authority over a third of Syria. For the Russians this is also a win, though it will damage their relations with Turkey. For the U.S., they can now leave this quagmire and give the responsibility of it to someone else. For the Kurds. They may lose their independence in their dealings with Syria, but they are now safe from the Turks (maybe). For the Turks, Erdogan now has the choice of continuing the offensive and facing a coalition of Syria/Kurds/Russian forces (with no support from the U.S. and European governments), or back down. My gut tells me that he is going to back down, not only losing his credibility with his European and American allies, but more importantly, not being able to accomplish his goal of forming a 30 km. buffer along the border. This is what happens when you act impulsively in the Middle East. You always get burned. I also expect Erdogan to unleash another migrant wave of refugees to Europe as retaliation.

ISIS emerging from fleeing US forces is common, same thing happened in Iraq. Its almost like anytime the US leaves somewhere, they leave these ISIS fighters behind.

Trump is so mean ,lol!!!
Erdogan must have PHD in stupidity. He quickly make everybody allied against him.
ISIS fighter will be rounded up by Russia or their Syrian allies or their reputation will be tarnished.
Some conservatives and all libtards said we had no legal basis to be in Syria. Now that they are getting what they want they cry (real tears) that they do not want it.
To stay in Syria without sturm and drang required winning legal arguments in the public square and maybe courts, winning the political arguments and making it the majority opinion. None of that spadework was done.
Getting out of Syria might help us focus on the Chinese threat, which however is not likely, since the Chinese have bought the Cintons, the Gores, the Bidens, and who knows how many other Democrats like the cheap whores they are.
McConnnell is not to be trusted either.
Trump is a mormon. Simply put. Grabbed defeat from the Jews of victory. He has no idea what he is doing and it shows. The only country that didn't benefit from this is the US. A blind man could see what was coming, but not a moron. Syrian Gov now has their land back without have to bargain at all. Russian gets the US out without having to confront or bargain (funny it always seems to work out that way when Trunp is involved). The Iranians now have complete, un interrupted access to Lebanon, so now arming Israel's enemies will be easier and cheaper. A lot more Israelis will die because of this. Our allies the Kurds now hate us, and with good reason. Turkey, who is already working with and buying weapons from Russian is now closer to them and successfully pushed the US aside. Now we are going to embargo them? A NATO ally? So that's not going to last, so NATO is now going to be weakened by losing the second largest army in alliance, in a very strategic location where he have any air base that houses our nuclear weapons. But the biggest problem is that no one in the future will ally themselves with the US if it has the choice and our allies, like NATO, Japan, and S Korea, to are now going to have to think about working out deals or arrangements that don't include the US. Weakening us throughout the world.
Just completely dumb and with no possiblity of gain from the out set. The US presence keeled ISIS now. Now they are fleeing back to start new terrorist attacks as they make their way to Europe and the US. So Americans will die because of this and we will spend billions trying to protect our serfs from this new threat. The operation. Was cheap since we weren't doing the fighting on the ground for the most part. Kurdsost 11000 troops killed, 24000 wounded fighting ISIS, with a dozen or US losses. Now for nothing.
The sooner that corrupt moron is out of there the better. He doesn't know what he is doing, doesn't care to learn, doesn't seem to understand he screwed up, and played right into our adversary's hands, again. Total moron.
LOL, your funny! And completely wrong on almost everything. I think WNU Editor is correct, a win for Syria and Russia allowing us to depart this mess. MAGA!!
Wrong? it's happening now. Get a clue.
Turkey is the antichrist living in there hearts
Dangerous war comes
Ah yes asymmetic wars.
1. Fund groups of people that want to overthrow the government.
2. Start, or, help to create violent conflict.
3. Provide military support, training, or, direct military involvement with U.S. soldiers in combat roles.
4. Continue working to increase levels of conflict until it is full-scale war.
5. Then exit.
6. Mission accomplished.
Stability of a country has been destroyed. This may sometimes be the only goal for whatever reason, or, it may be the goal in order to further isolate an ally, or, in this case perhaps another target nation, like maybe Iran in this case, to create better a opportunity to invade that other nation in the future.
This is the ever continuing U.S. policy. It is very successful because the goal is not to create honest and friendly relations with non white nations, although that is claimed to be a goal. The goal is to maintain disorder, chaos, and violence to prevent opportunities of long-lasting unification forming between non-western nations as in "DIVIDE AND CONQUER".
In the process of course you have to disregard that what you are doing is criminal and have no sorrow for the innocent lives you have helped end and destruction and suffering you have caused.
But for sure, to ensure some measure, no matter how minute, of support from your own citizens, praise your own soldiers who have fallen, for basically nothing, to the hilt while cursing the so called enemy.
Another day and Bob lays another turd. Never fails.
Bob voided the following from his nether regions:

Might the Kurds be already be in violent conflict before WW2, before WW1, or before the US existed?

Human rights of Kurdish people in Turkey

Kurds have had a long history of discrimination and massacres perpetrated against them by the Turkish government.[1] Massacres have periodically occurred against the Kurds since the establishment of the Republic of Turkey in 1923. Among the most significant is the Dersim rebellion where 13,160 civilians were killed by the Turkish Army and 11,818 people were taken into exile.[2] According to McDowall, 40,000 people were killed.[3] The Zilan massacre of 1930 was a massacre[4][5] of the Kurdish residents of Turkey during the Ararat rebellion, in which 5,000 to 47,000 were killed.[6]
The use of Kurdish language, dress, folklore, and names were banned and the Kurdish-inhabited areas remained under martial law until 1946.[7] In an attempt to deny their existence, the Turkish government categorized Kurds as "Mountain Turks" until the 1980s.[8][9][10][11] The words "Kurds", "Kurdistan", or "Kurdish" were officially banned by the Turkish government.[12] Following the military coup of 1980, the Kurdish language was officially prohibited in public and private life.[13] Many people who spoke, published, or sang in Kurdish were arrested and imprisoned.[14] Since the lifting of the ban in 1991, the Kurdish population of Turkey has long sought to have Kurdish included as a language of instruction in public schools as well as a subject. Currently, it's illegal to use the Kurdish language as an instruction language in private and public schools, yet there are schools giving education in Kurdish.
