Simon Tisdall, The Guardian: About 41% of the global population are under 24. And they’re angry…
From Hong Kong to Chile, young people are rising up to fight injustice and inequality. Their elders should be grateful.
A spate of large-scale street protests around the world, from Chile and Hong Kong to Lebanon and Barcelona, is fuelling a search for common denominators and collective causes. Are we entering a new age of global revolution? Or is it foolish to try to link anger in India over the price of onions to pro-democracy demonstrations in Russia?
Each country’s protests differ in detail. But recent upheavals do appear to share one key factor: youth. In most cases, younger people are at the forefront of calls for change. The uprising that unexpectedly swept away Sudan’s ancien regime this year was essentially generational in nature.

WNU Editor: Just imagine how this under 24 population will feel when they learn that they will have to pay off the global debt that we .... the older generation .... have built up over the decades. If they are mad now, they will be molten mad in a decade or two.

/Luckily it'll take awhile for them to figure that out. Math isn't their strong suite. That subject being 'oppressive' and all...
Take into account the rapid population rise in, frankly, third world countries, I’d take this stat with a pinch of salt.
Pretty sure the majority of the global population, young or old, has nothing to do with this foolery. They always claim they are "the people", though they are just a mob.
Yeah funny how the GREATEST GENERATION (who was in power until now) fucked up the planet and leaves nothing but debt and dirt. Thanks, greatest generation, you rock!
You would be less dumb if you realized what that term really referred to
Trump declined an invitation to throw out the ceremonial first ball at the Washington Nationals' opening day game in 2017. Last year and again this season, Trump was missing-in-action on opening day. Nor has he followed his predecessors' custom of tossing the first pitch in the World Series.
Trump prefers to appear before crowds of loyal followers. Since he took office, his few appearances outside the White House have been highly orchestrated affairs where the audiences are vetted by the president's operatives.
But this year, after much dilly-dallying, he promised to attend the fifth game of the World Series between the Washington Nationals and Houston Astros, which will take place on Sunday at Nationals Park in D.C. Whether he would take the mound to throw out the first pitch was a matter of much debate. As late as Thursday, he told reporters in the Oval Office that he was not sure if he would throw out the first pitch. Then, on Friday night, Major League Baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred revealed that Trump had again demurred from participating in the first-pitch ritual. Recounting his conversation with Trump, Manfred said that the president would attend the game but had opted out of throwing the first pitch or making an on-field appearance.
Obama threw the ceremonial 1st pitch.
He threw like a girl.
He also threw high and to the left.
Of course BamBam had an excuse and the Driveby media dutifully carried water.
Obama should have let his boyfriend Larry Sinclair throw the 1st pitch. Larry would have done a better job.
Or maybe Obama should have had his body man, Reggie Love, throw the 1st pitch. After all nobility does do that. They have others, substitutes, fight for them.

Obama Still Can’t Throw a Baseball Correctly
Obama Still Can’t Throw a Baseball Correctly
With limp-wristed throws like that, no wonder he got flexible for Putin.
So we go from revolution by the kids to throwing the first pitch in the World Series!? You guys are nuts!
As far as the revolution goes, I think the world is in change (it's a constant), but more now. A lot has to do with modern tech and its ability to share info and attract attention. It will be sometime before this settles but Man will prevail and adapt like it has for centuries.

I apologize Mike.
I was just replying to someone, who writes like Fred. It could be the disease himself.

9:30 AM had to be slapped down and put in its box.

I don't think you mean the Greatest Generation. You mean the baby boom generation

Line up the year dates with the deficits and you will see that you criticism was the usual blathering of a puerile lib.

I agree with you 100%. The basics of what we learned in school are still taught but not well.
Even my cat knows some math. I asked her yesterday what two minus two was and she said ........ nothing.
Imagine if you were to travel back to the 1950s and showed the people of that time your cell phone, probably smaller in size than their wallets, and told them that with this device you can access all the recorded history of mankind but mostly you use it to look at pictures of cats and dogs and argue with people you don't know.
The computers do it all and are improving all the time. Government, or, whoever is moving fast towards population control. As one example the voice print file being built for the past few years has had a tremendous surge in the recent past.
