Reuters: Explainer: Turkey set to redraw map of Syrian war once more
ISTANBUL/BEIRUT (Reuters) - A looming Turkish incursion into northern Syria is set to reshape the map of the Syrian conflict once again, dealing a blow to Kurdish-led forces that have battled Islamic State while widening Turkey’s territorial control at the border.
This would be Turkey’s third such incursion since 2016. Motivated largely by the aim of containing Syrian Kurdish power, Turkey already has troops on the ground across an arc of northwestern Syria, the last stronghold of anti-Damascus rebels.

WNU Editor: Personally, I think this is a bad move. And giving more power and influence to someone like Erdogan makes me feel queasy. But there are no good options on this one, and it appears that Erdogan had made the decision to send in the military whether the U.S. approved or not. On a side note. It is funny to see the same people who told us that Trump was going to get us into endless wars now complaining that he’s not starting one here.

It's a tough call but he's right. You have been there long enough. Sure no one likes Erdogan but unless you stay there for 20 years and even then there's no guarantee this will stop. and on top you foot the bill. I admire the fighting skill and fortitude of the Kurds and we helped them. ..but...it's not your war to take care of forever. Turkey's Nato membership is a real problem and something Putin will keep exploiting. .the S400s was just the start. He loves this kind of stuff. Having been to Turkey I'm surprised they are part of Nato. They share very few of the cultural or governmental elements associated with much of the rest of Nato. .and they certainly won't join the EU for decades if ever (20 years or so ago this was the big talk when Turkey was more moderate and even back then it was a terrible idea)
The Left is all exercised. They care so deeply. They tell us how much they care.
They have policy positions that they have been whipping us with on transgender, faux white supremacy, and everything else. Positions on Syria not so much.
Actually liberals do have a plan. They what us to partner up and provide military advice to people, who would lock this woman up and disappear her.
