"The Syrian Army will replace all positions the #Kurds will withdraw from according to the US-Turkish deal."

"#Russia will coordinate the #Turkish - #Kurdish and #SAA presence in north-east #Syria."

"Syrian #Kurds will be part of the modification of the constitution and will be recognised as an important players in the future of #Syria."

I honestly can't believe it. Maybe it'll fall apart like most other (more minor) deals that the US has been involved with in Syria. Some commander in the Pentagon usually orders an attack after any peace agreement, which obviously causes the other side to pull out. If that doesn't happen this time, then Trump will have ended a decade long civil war, forced the constitutional reform on the Assad government that the outside powers (claim) to have always wanted, and opened up the prospect of federalism for the ethnic groups inside the country. I'm sure there is a contingent which has been brainwashed so heavily that they'll see this as a negative, because orange man bad. However this could be his hallmark achievement going into the election. Especially if he's running against Biden who's only credentials in Syria as VP was funneling weapons into the hands of jihadist pawns.

Assad is going to remain in power either way, his jihadi enemies are confined to Idlib province.

Caecus,

You may be wrong. I don't know for sure. The best thing going for Assad is the Russians. They are vicious.

I suspect that after the war is won and forces are demobilized or redeployed due to money, Assad will obviously try to rebuild. I believe at this time some of the players, who funded the insurgency and helped turn it from a pure protest to an insurgency will try to infiltrate again from Jordan.

Countries like Qatar or groups like the Muslim Brotherhood.

The Russians may cow the Qataris.
