The Hill: House passes resolution rebuking Trump over Syria pullout
The House on Wednesday approved a resolution formally rebuking President Trump over his decision to withdraw U.S. troops from northern Syria.
The measure passed in a 354-60 vote, with four lawmakers voting present. All 60 votes against the resolution came from Republicans, with the present votes coming from three GOP lawmakers and Rep. Justin Amash (I-Mich.). The top three House Republicans supported the motion in a rare split from the president.

President Trump is pissing off those who use these perpetual wars to feather their nests with public money. This vote shows us who works for who.
Pelosi's call to pray for the President's "health" after she walked out of today's meeting struck me as a veiled threat.
Its a very easy (and uncourageous) vote to condemn Trump for removing 50-100 SOCOM troops from Syria. Group-thinkers generally follow the hue and cry of the press.
And generally speaking, the volume and shrillness of the political outcry over these things is frequently inversely proportional to the actual/real world consequences. Meaning that after everyone settles down, its not going to be the geopolitical earthquake its been cracked up to be.

Now what the monkeys haven't reported-on is what the breakdown among prior service congress critters was.
Also the sub-optimal press has not reported on the efforts or lack of effort by congress to justify this war so that it had an overt super majority of support in Congress and nationally.
1) We owe Assad. He as Syrian leader killed American soldiers after 2003 just like Iran did.
2) They could have also used the old crone's R2P argument more forcibly and forthrightly.
3) Assad put demonstrators into jails and tortured them.
4) Assad is not the rightful ruler of Syria. He represent 15% or less of the population or < 1 in 6. He has disenfranchised Kurds and Sunni.
But how many Congress critters have continuously made any of those 4 arguments?

The legitimacy, nor the make-up, of the government of Syria is not for U.S. to determine.
The Kurds disenfrachised themselves when they aligned with an occupying power. Many Sunnis are fighting as members of the SAA or associated militias. The 15% support statement is patently false. 15% of the Syrian population is Alawi; they are hardcore Baath supporters but many, many more support the government including Christians, Druze, Sunni.
The Dems supported takfiris dressed up as FSA, blew hundreds of millions training them. It blew up _and continues to blow up_ in their faces.
President Trump is 100% correct in getting out.
The Dems and Reps against Trump are pro war and shilling for the war profit takers.
If throwing demonstrators on prison, torturing people etc. is a reason for invasion/regime change, there are dozens of other countries that fit the bill. Saudi Arabia comes to mind.

I doubt all Alawis support Assad.
If the Kurds supported Assad in any great numbers they would never have been semi autonomous in the last few years.

You pick and choose your battles. We owe Assad for helping jihadis big time.
Saudi Arabia is making some big strides when it comes to women's rights. All without a war.

Syria aligned itself with Iran, killed american soldiers and abuses its population on an industrial scale.
