USNI News: Carrier Lincoln Enters Persian Gulf After 6 Months Nearby; Truman Back At Sea Ahead of Relieving Lincoln

USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72) moved into the Persian Gulf for the first time since since it was scrambled to the Middle East in May, even as its replacement, USS Harry S. Truman (CVN-75) is back at sea with its air wing in final preparation to deploy after an electrical failure.

Lincoln and its strike group were on deployment earlier this year and hurried to the Middle East after then-National Security Advisor John Bolton called for an increased presence to counter Iranian aggression. The Lincoln Carrier Strike Group, though, spent all these months steaming in a tight operational box in the North Arabian Sea and the Gulf of Oman, with occasional port calls at Duqm, Oman.

The Lincoln CSG transited the Strait of Hormuz and is now operating in the Persian Gulf, Navy officials confirmed to USNI News on Tuesday.

Iran claimed Israeli F-35's flew at will over Iranian cities this year.
Now would be a nice time to repeat that stunt, or if it didn't happen, make it happen.
F-35's & F-22's breaking the sound barrier over Tehran or Qom would be inspiring to the masses.
Remember when Obama had a chance to support Iranians out on the streets? Big difference with Trump calling the shots. Obama's gonads shriveled up at times like these.

"Remember when Obama had a chance to support Iranians out on the streets?"

In 2009

The Green Revolution that was still born in part, because Obama sat on his hands and uttered not a kind word.

Obama had kind words for the Muslim Brotherhood Revolution in Egypt, but not the Green Revolution in Iran. Obama has his favorites.

First, Iran is a much smaller country than China, easier to tak on.

80 million versus 1.2 billion.

Maybe even you can do the math Lapides.

Second, I've grown more and more reluctant for any support that would have to be backed up by the military. Liberals would only protest it.

If it were not for Pearl Harbor and us being allies with Uncle Joe the protests by the Left would have been a lot worse in WW2.

Judging Mosaddegh to be unreliable and fearing a Communist takeover in Iran, UK prime minister Winston Churchill and the Eisenhower administration decided to overthrow Iran's government, though the predecessor Truman administration had opposed a coup, fearing the precedent that Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) involvement would set....
Obama made deal with 5 allies and with Iran on Nukes...Trump discarded that deal. I do not see Trump doing anything but imposing sanctions on Iran. I have no issue with that. But to blame Obama when Trump is sitting on his butt? and then allowing Iran to get strong hold in Syria while announcing we were pulling out!

Mosaddegh rigged an election.
