Reuters: Bolivia military says won't 'confront' the people as pressure on Morales builds
LA PAZ (Reuters) - President Evo Morales faced rising pressure to resolve a weeks-long standoff over Bolivia’s disputed election on Saturday after police forces were seen joining anti-government protests and the military said it would not “confront the people” over the issue.
Morales’ government decried a “coup” against him by what it called “violent groups,” prompting a number of fellow leftist leaders in the region to rally around him and call for a peaceful resolution to the crisis.
Morales, Latin America’s longest-standing leader, won an election on Oct. 20, but a delay of nearly a day in the vote count sparked allegations of fraud and led to protests, strikes and road blocks.

I remember when the LAME Stream Press and all the pressititutes crowed back in the early aughts that the world was tilting Left. They 'journalists' and I use that term lightly, pointed out the Venezuela's Hugio Chavez, Ecuador's Correa and Bolivia's Evo Morales were socialist. The drive-by media were delirious with happiness. Things were going their way!
Now a decade or decade and 1/2 later we have
- Venezuela is a communist shithole with no TP, no medicine, often no electricity, and 13% of the country has fled.
- Ecuador had riots over failed socialist policies.
- Bolivia will have a revolution.
Yet Bernie Sanders, Lizzie Warren and other people always proclaim "This time we will get it right."
What is your alternative, let the masses starve to death or die of some curable disease? There is a half way measure not requiring a total swing to Socialism.
