The Hill: Iran still biggest state sponsor of terror according to new State Department report
According to the State Department's Country Report that was released Friday, Iran is still the "world’s worst state sponsor of terrorism."
The report says that Tehran spends nearly a billion dollars a year to "support terrorist groups that serve as its proxies and expand its malign influence across the globe." In particular, the country supports Hezbollah, Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad.
Additionally, the country reportedly personally planned terrorist acts in Belgium, France, and Germany earlier this year.
Al Qaeda also continues to survive.
